Good Morning All. Excuse the dramatic headliner but I was remembering last night our creme de la creme ADR at California Grill.I had decided to try Sushi for the first time.Even going up in the Cali elevator I kept wondering,if I should or should not try it.I was scared that I would hate it and that wouldn't be a great start to the evening.Anyway it turned out that I loved it and possibly the highlight of my meal.My taste buds were in orgasmic overdrive. So question to all of you.Come forth and tell us of something you've had at Disney that you've never had at all.;)

My Disney virginity-breaker wasn't food, but alcohol... During the Grape Getaway event I was introduced to Louis XIII Cognac, a sip of velvet sliding down my throat and a very expensive habit formed!

Other than some Disney originals (Dole Whip, Tonga Toast) nothing comes to mind. So either I have lead a very interesting life with lots of travel to far off places and dined on exotic foods or I'm getting forgetful.

Wow,your are a lucky sod. But if your in the land of the free, your spoilt for choice. When we visited my sister in law in Los Angeles, they were so many cuisines to choose from when going out,I was in foodie heaven.;)

My first time ever trying sushi was in Epcot in Japan in 1988. No idea what the restaurant was called then, but it was located where Tokyo Dining currently resides. My first trial of escargot was on board the Wonder and my first time eating buffalo was at Food and Wine.A few other kind of firsts at Disney, cottage pie, bangers and mash, and school bread.

OMG.I love brandy, pray tell, how much did it cost?:)
$1,950 @ duty-free leaving the US, but I got dinged badly for being honest coming into Canada, $3.95 duty, $23 HST [sales tax] and a whopping $911 Ontario liquor surcharge! [despite significant pre-trip research, that surcharge was not found anywhere, until it came time to pay  ]

Would have cost me $2,800 just to buy it at home.

EDIT: But it's not Brandy...

Monty, you spent just under $2K for a small bottle of booze? I sure hope you do not decide to tie one on and hammer that baby down! I shutter when I spend $100 on a bottle. I certainly hope you really enjoy that smoooooth cognac.

Go back and count again... I ended up spending just shy of $3K once I got it through Canadian Customs... :(

Trust me, this isn't the kinda stuff for tying one on... Savoured in quiet solitude and even then only when the mood is just right...

I have rather expensive tastes in alcohol, Louis XIII Cognac, JW Blue Label Scotch, various and sundry very hard to get single malts, a 23-yo Zacapa Guatemalan rum and a lovely 18-yo Jameson's Limited Reserve are all in my bar. I also have an ample supply of gin, vodka, rum, etc for visitors who insist on "mix" with their alcohol... ;)

My son has permission to drink any of the stuff that isn't in a "bottle inside a box"... [though when with me he has tried the Louis XIII and some of the Jameson's and liked both]

Nothing too exotic, but I had my first risotto and first crème brulee on this last trip, thank you Le Cellier. Loved both. Actually smashed a lot of the cb's while on property, but Le Cellier was the best.

I haven't had anything in Disney just yet that is much different or new. I live in an area that has many different cuisines. I don't usually do signature restaurants there, either. I am going to have to work harder and try to find something I haven't had before next time!

I have about 8 grand worth of booze on my bar, gotta have something to tide me over between Disney trips! ;)

Next trip: WDW in April for WDWCelebrations' Flora & Fauna
Then: DLR for two weeks in August for and around D23 Expo

Assuming of course the apocalypse doesn't arrive in ten days.
