losing some magic?

I think spending time with your family will more than make up for staying off property. Hopefully with the money you save you can take longer trips! Always look on the bright side!:)
BINGO! I thought the same exact thing. Also, if you really get the urge to stay on property, take 2 nights out of your stay with your parents and book a Disney Resort.

I don't think so. I think it will allow you to have more flexibility when it comes to the magic. You can save a little money, take longer trips. Enjoy the outside areas or surrounding areas without feeling the pressure. My husband talks about seeing things outside the parks but always feels guilty that he would do that on Disney property. This will allow you to do that. Plus time with family is so fleeting these days.

No you will be fine : ) I understand it is bittersweet but that will really be your home away from home! And it's around the corner from Disney! It could be a cool idea to just get a room somewhere on property for a couple nights. This could be your opportunity to try new places. That's kinda what I try to do because my in laws moved about 2 hours away from Orlando. Since we go and stay with them, we spend less on hotels and can explore different areas of Florida we didn't know about. So on our way down to see "grandma" we can catch a couple resort days on WDW property before heading there.

Find the positive aspects of staying with relatives, which others have mentioned. Maybe more trips are possible if paying for resorts is not an option. Catching up with family. As someone else said spend one night on site!

I wish my folks lived near WDW, not only for the obvious reasons but a few thousand miles distance would be handy! ;) (not really, I love the old gits!)

I don't know where you stayed on property before but I would think being able to stay in your parents place just 10 minutes away would have a lot of perks. Some things that come to mind: Money saved eating meals/dinners at home. Having a more comfortable, roomy bedroom to sleep in. No noisy guests in the next room or outside your door. Better water pressure in the shower. Better laundry facilities. Access to a vehicle for side trips, not paying for rentals. No waiting for resort buses or dealing with lines at bus stops. And who says you will lose any magic.... decorate your bedroom in the same manner your resort room is decorated if you like so it's got a resort feel to it.:D

I love the Disney bubble, but I think you will love having all of that space, not to mention extra money.
And hey, you can still stay on-site once in a while if you feel like it!
