Looks like my family vacations to Disney are over

My wife and I have been 7 times in the last 6 years and twice this year. I have to say it's lost a lot of it's magic for us. I can't really think of much that has gotten better in the last couple years. AK is an endless wall, Epcot is terribly dated, and half of HS is closed. Sure, there is a lot in the works, but the next couple years don't look very appealing to us.

In addition, there are so many little changes we have noticed with food that take away from our enjoyment: smaller portions, less options, low quality.

Unfortunately this has been more and more true. For me it is not even the parks being updated or their current state. It is a combination of little things that Disney has moved away from or are now implementing poorly. Just got back from WDW. We stayed at All-Star Movies. It used to be the cleaning staff would leave towels shaped as a Mickey head. Other times they would do little things to make your stay a little special the way they made up the room. This time, absolutely nothing. As a matter of fact, it felt like we were being rushed out of our rooms every day so the staff could clean. Our room was missing a do not disturb sign and we had to call for one so we would not be pushed out.

I remember watching TV at this resort and you could find a station with Disney cartoon shorts. They had one station now, but it only showed the new Mickey cartoons (which are entertaining but do not feel like the Disney characters). At least show some of the older and better shorts mixed in.

We ran into multiple CMs with bad attitudes. One was bad enough for us to complain about, but for the most part, I would say, easily 20% of the CMs we met did not exactly show that Disney magic.

Overall, it did not feel like a Disney resort at times. These are little minor things that just aren't being handled well now. We could almost stay at a non-Disney resort and get the same feeling.

It seems like they are concentrating so much on the updates and changes they are planning, they are forgetting about the small things that made Disney - Disney. Maybe it was the time of year, but this is our third time in late summer and the first time it felt like this.

I cannot speak about Universal, and WDW is my first (and only love down in FL). I do wish that they would go back to the "E-Ticket" nights for resort guests. Yes, you did have to pay $10 bucks or more (I was a child and do not remember the price), and the tickets were limited (you bought them in your hotel), we did manage to get a lot accomplished within 3 hours.

Last week I was in WDW and there were so many people that the MK limited fastpasses to 4 per person. I do enjoy the magicbands and not having to run around the park for fastpasses; however, I used to get 4 fastpasses within the first few hours of park opening using the old FP method.

I'm at the point now where I have considered the thought that WDW should go back to the line format with no fastpasses. Perhaps by doing this, lines will move at a decent pace.
