I'd go with AoA because it is the newest.

Aside from the themes, there really is very little difference between the rest of them. If staying in a disney hotel for as little money as possible is the goal, choosing the cheapest one won't be a mistake. You won't get a better place by paying more.

I'd agree...outside of the Preferred Room. That means you are by the Hippy Dippy pool...which is loud during the day, and stays busy (randomly) during all periods of the night. I'd much rather have a Garden view in the 4000 or 5000 building in 60's, or the 50's 3000 or 1000 (no parking lot view) building than have to deal with a kiddo and try to sleep near the Hippy Dippy pool ever again.

It was so bad that I went with a Moderate for this years trip.

We've actually never been placed in the 60s section, we always end up in the 50s 1000 building. We just arrived today and that's where they put us again we're facing a bamboo filled area and are on the opposite side of the building from the bowling pin pool and it is ridiculously quiet over here.

We could probably end up here or in a similar type of area if we made a request but I'd just be afraid that they wouldn't be able to honor the request and I'd end up in the middle of nowhere. I

POP! We got a standard room, and ended up with a room just around the corner from balu. Room number 5134 i believe ( im crazy and took a photo to remember to request it next time.) its away from the pool, and outlooks onto the lake, and when we went we could see the construction of AoA. It was also on the first floor! It was just that for us "home base" we were there very little, only one night that we had to ride out a nasty storm that was flooding the studios. We never had any pool noise or anything, yet was still close to the food court and the buses.
Stayed in the same room Was great.

About half our trips are all adult and I don't love the value resorts but when the budget dictates I'd rather have a wdw vaca at a value resort than not at all. I haven't stayed at AoA but have been at music, movies, sports, and pop. Of those I liked pop the best. The memorabilia is more of an adult nostalgia kind of thing giving it the adult edge imo over the other values i've stayed at. I've also stayed at the hilton by dtd and like it too and think if prices are close that would be a great option for you. If I had to choose between a mod/deluxe stay while eating quick/counter serve burgers and hot dogs vs a value resort and signature dining my stomach would win the battle and I'd happily stay value and eat well.

We stay at the All Star Sports in the Football section. Nice and quiet area. We"ll probably try the AOA on our next trip.
