Looking for the name of the wine...

While on my last trip to the World Showcase, I happen to buy a glass or two of wine in Italy, however, I cannot remember the name of the red bubbly wine they sold.

The name of the vineyard or where I could buy it outside the Disney area would be so helpful!:slurp:

Welcome to the forums! :)

Where did you buy it? Was it during Food and wine Festival? I think it will be kinda hard to find it if you didn´t see the bottle, only bought glasses of it.
Maybe if we give you names, they may ring a bell? I´ll start: Brunello de Montepulciano.... that´s all I can remember now! LOL ;)

Not tasted during the food and wine fest

I was a sparkling dark rose or red to my rememberance. I remember that the bottle and the lip of the bottle was made of thick glass. Unlike most wine bottle, the bottom of the bottle widened out more than usual.

Could it have been Rosa Regale? It's a sparkling rose; somewhat sweet. It's a wonderful dessert wine, or perfect for sipping. The bottle looks a little like a champagne bottle.

Edited to add:

It's imported by Banfi. The full name is Rosa Regale, Brachetto D'Acqui, and it's seved chilled.

description: "A soft and deliciously luscious red sparkling wine with charming hints of rose petals and raspberries. Ideal as a delicate apertif or elegant dessert wine. It enhances the flavor of chocolate."

I'm able to purchase it at my local Publix for around $20; I've also found it at a wine store for about $16 -18. It's very, very, good, and I always have at least one bottle in my wine rack.

This may not be the wine you're thinking of, but as I recall we saw it being offered the last time we were in Epcot. (At the store in Italy)

How long ago did you taste this wine? And was it sampeling or during the food and wine festival like Maria said?

I'd suggest calling WDW's 800 # and be patched through to the place of purchase/tasting. You didn't answer Maria's question and its really needed info to help you out. Was it part of the F&W festival; meaning you purchased it out of a temporary tent? Was it part of a sit-down meal? Did the permanent wine shop in Italy have a special tasting?

If it was part of the F&W festival, then they *should* have a database on all the vendors from the most recent years.

Kimpossible: Do the same thing, but yours is easier since you know it was at Le Cellier. They should be able to narrow it down for you in the same phone call.

He did say it was not during Food and Wine Festival (put it on the tittle of his post - I missed it the first time I read it too ;) ). Now my question is like lebernadin´s: was it at Alfredo di Roma´s or was it at the tent outside where they sell ice creams and desserts too?
I think it would be easier to get in touch with Guest Relations and have them ask the pavillion the brands they sell there.
Now if it was at the store where they sell chocolates and wine, it´s going to be harder to find... Good luck! :)

Oh, the ice wine is sooo good! :slurp:

If it was served cold and was sweet, it could have be Lambrusca by Rinute, which is an Italian wine. Not expensive and sweet enough to satisfy my Snapple/Mystic/Arizona taste buds.

But it's not overly sweet like a "Port Wine" (which tastes like overriped/rotted fruit) :hurl:

Thank you! It was the one

It was the Rose Regalia by Banfi. I remember buying a bottle and even the non wine drinkers of the family enjoyed it. Thanks for jump starting my memory!:slurp:

Same here. I first had it at a wine dinner at our club. We had invited our neighbors, who really aren't big wine drinkers, but have since asked to be invited over anytime we pop a bottle open.
