Looking for some tips...

Hi. I'm going back home in 15 days. This will be my 6th trip and I'm really looking forward to it. It's just me, my sister, and my mom this year because my dad has to work. I was almost able to bring a friend, but he backed out at the last minute so we couldn't reserve an extra plane ticket. So basically, I'm going to be off on my own for the whole week. I know the World like it's my own house, but I'm looking for some suggestions to make it more fun as I will be alone nearly the whole time.

We're staying at the Boardwalk Villas which makes Epcot and MGM easily accessible. I can drive, but I don't know if my mom will be letting me use the rental car or not. I will be making good use of the monorails at Epcot to get to MK and such. The only places I'll have trouble getting to are Downtown Disney and the Animal Kingdom. I'm really looking forward to doing what I want for once, and to just relax and take it all in. So back to the original question, any tips for making a one person vacation more fun?

Hey there,

Enjoy your trip! I love going to the parks by myself...I think it provides a different kind of magic...a totally different experience!

I am a writer and often find myself people watching as much as doing attractions! Picking up on people quirks, seeing families having fun...it's very interesting (no Im not some kind of stalker or anything). When I was a CM I used to make new friends all the time when visiting as a guest. I met SO many great people while standing on line for rides...kind of a way for me to feel like I was making magic even when I wasn't working...In fact I met a family once who adopted me for their entire trip! Saw them a couple of tiems while wondering around the MK one day and they told me I shold hang with them and we did...I told them to come visit me at the Emporium the next day and they did! I ended up spending tons of time with that family...they got a kick out of all my extensive Disney knowledge and the kids thought it was AWESOME that I knew Mickey personally! :) They still write me now asa matter of fact. we keep in touch (in fact I'm gonna go write them now! :))

I suggest trying to explore the parks, make sure you do what YOU want....if you ar on your own there is no one else to please. Let loose, take your time and really explore. If you are in to Photograpghy try finding little intricacies (i.e. Hidden Mickeys or little details that not every one notices), or even go Character Hunting! Try to find your favorite characters...maybe collect autographs. Characters aren't just for kids you know! :D

As for attractions...keep your eyes peeled for Single Riders lines, they can kill your wait times.

As for traveling to and from the parks and your hotel..remember Disney Transportation is more than just monorails....Buses and boats are fun ways to travel around property.

Enjoy your trip! Feel free to ask any more questions..I'd love to offer my advice!

talk to lots of people! I used to go with friends and we'd meet alot of the cast members, particularly at Epcot and make plans to meet up with them on off days or after park hours to hang out.

Up the Irons!

But yeah, the tour sounds good. Thanks for the suggestions so far. I'm not sure how meeting people will work out since I'm incredibly shy, but it might. Keep them coming!
