Looking for some insight into work environment @ DRC

I am looking for current, former, or friends/relatives of Disney Reservation CM's to shed some insight on the working environment. I know of someone who is currently scheduled for a second interview with the DRC in Orlando and they wanted some input on what the atomosphere was like.
The only thing I have found so far is from the book Inside the Mouse which is not very positive.
PM's are welcome as well as thread replies.
Thanks in advance!

I worked at DRC on my college program. Get ready to learn EVERYTHING about the parks because you will be asked questions (both weird and normal) from the guests. Training is about a week long 8-5. I worked in the dining reservations on the second floor above guest relations in EPCOT. DRC's environment at the main building off of property is rather simple. There are little boxes ppl sit in with their computers, just you alone. Its definitely a rather different guest interaction than being out in the parks. (I know because I did both.)

Off property

When you worked at the DRC off property, did you feel even though you were alone, that you were being monitored? Was it a comfortable working environment or did you pretty much anticpate the end of your shift? Thanks for the insight!

I actually did not work at the DRC off property, I was only trained there. We did go on a tour of the building and notice where all the "magic" takes place though. It seems as though everyone there plays around and jokes around, but knowing from experience, calls come one after another. In the EPCOT drc area, we sat side by side with little walls separating the computers. Personally, the time flew by and I never once worried about time or getting off. BUT, for days that it was dead and no calls were coming in, it was rather boring. (so bring magazines, if that area allows them)

I have heard it is challenging, but life is all in how you look at things and approach them.

It's actually not that challenging at all. In the beginning it is nerve racking to get on the phone for the first time, but most guests understand your situation after you tell them it is your first time :) lol. Other than that, it becomes almost involuntary talking to the guests.
