Is there a behind the scenes tour at either epcot or MK? Also if you have been on it what do you think?

Thanks

Like RU said, that's a great guide to start out on. Also, do a search on this sites fourms, you'll find alot of threads on tours here as well.

I've done several of these tours:

Backstage Magic - 7 hour behind the scenes tour of EPCOT/MK/MGM - long but very informative. Lunch included.

Gardens of the World - Tour of World Showcase's gardens and how they mantain them. Good tour, but the guide made it great.

Treasure of the World - Tour of World Showcase's architecture

Backstage Safari - Fantastic tour of the backstage area of AK. How they take care of the animals. Very good tour, highly recommended.

Wild by Design - Another good AK tour. Tour of Asia and African areas about the architecture of AK. You even get a small breakfast.

Behind the Seeds - Walking tour of the Land's boat ride tour. Nice cheap one too.

Sunrise Safari * ( requires concierge at AKL) - Great tour. Takes about an hour, you ride the regular AK Safari ride, but they stop and talk about all the animals, followed by a fantastic breakfast buffet. If you stay AKL concierge, you must do this one.

We're planning another trip next October, and plan to do the Future Wolrd tour and the Sunrise Safari and Backstage Safari again. We are going with friends and they want to experiance them too.

The tours are great. The are a bit expensive, but if you're a long time visitor of the World, they are a great way to have a bran new experiance.

If I would recommend only one, it would be Backstage Safari. We love animals, and this one is all about how Disney takes care of the animals at AK.

Let us know what you choose!

Just returned from WDW where we did the Backstage Magic tour. WOW it was awesome!!! Saw MGM, EPCOT and MK from the backside (and underside). Got to tour the General Shops where things are made (yes we even saw the Mission Space ride vehicles being produced!!!!!!). If you would like more info please email me and I will fill you in. The details are way to much for me to type here.

And for those kind of people out there who hate when people bump well I am just doing this because I want someone to answer my question.

If you're asking if Fantasmic is on the Backstage Magic tour, the answer is no. The only thing inside MGM we saw was the place we ate lunch at. Everything else was around MGM, but all backstage. But no Fantasmic.

For any of you who are SCUBA certified, think about doing Dive Quest at the Living Seas. My wife and I did it recently and it was awsome. In adition, you get to be a cast member for the duration of the tour. Great variety of fish, about 3,500 in all.

On our tour we went thru the design department backstage at MGM. It is the area of the backstage tour that has the displays of clothes from movies on the tram tour part. We followed the process of designing and making the uniforms and clothes worn by Disney folks. Kinda sounds boring but it was VERY interesting seeing the technology they use to create the stuff. Once again I must say WOW it was a GREAT tour!!!

Did they give you a little piece of cloth? We got these small cutouts from Price Charming's robes.

About how much do these tours run for? My friend and I, and possibly my dad, are considering doing the EPCOT behind the scenes tour. Just was curious about how much of a whole in my wallet it would create. I noticed DMC-12 said that he got passes to walk on TT and got the VIP viewing of Illuminations, do they do this as part of the tour or did he just luck out? Thanks! :)

I've read a few times that they give you the VIP viewing of Illuminations, so this may be standard. I don't know about the TT.

If you go here, http://wdwig.com/tours.htm , it has a good list of descriptions, pricing and reviews. Of course call Disney for the actual price to be sure.

Have fun, I'm gonna do this one too in October, I hope they still give away the VIP area too. :D

Just a heads up gang... I would not come right out and ask your guide for the VIP viewing for RoE (you might come off greedy and tick off your guide) I am not saying you will... just a heads up. I did not expect it... and I was kinda in shock when he told me.. It was just kind of a nice "Magic Happens" bonus :)

If it (vip viewing area) happens to be empty that night... and he/she can make arrangments for you and your party to attend he/she your GR/Tour Guide "might" get you in. But remember, the more people in your tour group... the lesser the chance it can be arranged. Cause, it would just be mean and cruel to only give half of the tour group VIP seating .. I think its all or none. :)
