Looking for barbecue

Well, every time I think we have it all figured out my husband (who, by the way, was Mr. I don't care man when I asked in the first place) keeps coming up with more wishes than I can handle. Since I am trying to get in the disney spirit I though I would try and oblige as many wishes as I can handle.
At this point the man is looking for really good barbecue. I have read a little about Flametree and Whispering Canyon and see they both offer the good stuff. However, it seems they have the dry, rubbed style BBQ and my husband is looking for the wet stuff. You know, messy fall of the ribs baby backs and piles of pulled pork tender with sauce. Anything like that in the world? Any help would be so greatly appreciated.

Hoop de do musical revue serves ribs. Not being a huge BBQ fan, I couldn't tell you what has the "Wet" or "Dry" BBQ. Flametree has been rated some of the best BBQ on property, espically in fast food. I'd give that a try 1st.

Although The Flametree Bar B Que in Disney's Animal Kingdom DOES serve dry rub type ribs and chicken, they supply two kinds of sauce in the Condiment area for you to slather on your food as you wish.

They are both pretty tasty but I prefer the hot over the mild sauce.

The meals are served with corn on the cob and some really great Bar B que baked beans.

I think cole slaw and fries are an option as well.

Great food and the area where you eat offers some great views and is very relaxing.

Watch out for the birds though, if you're not looking they'll try and snatch your food. :lookaroun

Don't look for staws or a drink lid in the condiment area, they aren't allowed in Animal Kingdom. ( I bring my own straws in my back pack though..shhhh)

Hope this helps.

I hate to break the news to you, there is no real good BBQ on property. In fact, the best BBQ available is in Texas at:

Again...I recommend Flame Tree Bar B Que.
They are as close as you can come to a really good Bar b Que in Florida.
As someone who enjoys a good Bar B Que product, and Having had Bar B Que from Chicago, New Orleans, Atlanta, Texas, and North Carolina, I'd say try Flame Tree. It's not the best, but it's pretty darn close.

I haven't been to the one at DTD, but I know the other House of Blues I've been to have served BBQ. Definitely baby back ribs made with sauce, since I ordered it.

Hi, minus the pulled pork, the best wet ribs I have had at Disney are at..are you ready...The Cape May Buffet Clam Bake...lots of other good stuff, but out of this world slighly sweet ribs...There are also some very spicy ribs at Boma's buffet, that are a little too spicy for me...

Good Luck...Ted

You might give the mixed grill a try at the Maya Grill in Coranado Springs Resort.

Mixed Grill - Filet mignon, fresh catch and St. Louis style ribs. Includes choice of potato & mixed veggies. - $29.99

or try the ribs alone:

St. Louis Style Ribs - Includes choice of potato & mixed veggies. - $19.99

That's because FAT ducks DO NOT make good BBQ !

I was wondering. I really could not understand what the CM who was sweeping up was saying. I kind of assumed he didnt want us to feed the ducks when I threw down a piece of bread and he blurted something at us...

But you are correct. Duck is best in its wild form, very lean.

Flame Tree BBQ has wet barbeque as well. I personally like their beef sandwich. And, I love that they have multiple barbeque sauces to choose from as well. I haven't really had barbeque elsewhere in WDW, but the Flame Tree BBQ is definitely worth a try. It's usually fairly calm, with a great view down by the water of E:E. Plus, the food is affordable, and very good.
