Hey Maelstrom, the reason I chose Rarotonga is because I stayed in Fiji my last two visits and fancied a change, also according to Tikiman's website it seems like the best alternative.

I don't think there's a bad longhouse at the Poly. I've stayed in Fiji and Tahiti, and both had their benefits. I've heard people rave about Samoa as well. I've honestly never heard anyone rave about Rarotonga, but like I said, I don't think there's a bad longhouse at the Poly.

Raratonga is a great longhouse for it's proximity to the GCH and Volcano Pool. I think the best longhouse is Tokelau. The rooms are 476 sq ft (same as Tahiti and Rapa Nui) as opposed to 415 sq ft. The hallways are a bit wider. Tokelau is also the most centrally located to the pools, GCH, and the TTC, as well as the bus stop and laundry facilities.

We've stayed in just about all the longhouses, and I can honestly say, I used to change every year, for the same reason as Shaun said ... we just fancied a change. The last several years we have done Club Level and stay in the Hawaii building, but aside from the Club Level side of it, the rooms in Hawaii seem exactly the same ....... a piece of heaven!! As long as I'm at the Poly, I guess I don't have a preference, but a change in longhouses is nice.
