Long Time Mickey lover First time at WDW HELP!

I am a longtime Mickey fan. I'm 25 years old and I finally have the chance to go see the mouse personally. I need some advise and I figured this would be the best place to get my needed answers.

1. I am going Dec 7th to Dec. 12th of this year. What is the weather like that time of year? Is it pool weather or should I not hold my breath??

2. I am staying at the Caribbean Beach Resort and I have been hearing mixed reviews. Has any of you guys stayed there and what do you think??

3. When are the discount codes coming out for that time?

4. ANy other advise you could give will be appriecated too.!!

Also--tuck a pair of lightweight gloves and a hat into your luggage. You will appreciate them if it is around 50 degrees and you are waiting for Illuminations near the lake.

Let me reiterate that you should check weather.com the day before you leave. Do NOT assume that shorts will be OK for the entire stay. As the "are you a tourist" thread mentioned--the surest sign of a tourist in Florida is shorts and a jacket.

Like has been said already, weather is relative! But if you know the old cliche "its a dry heat" you can translate that to cold in Florida. Humid 50 degrees seeps into your bones and feels a lot colder than "dry" 50 degrees. Add a breeze off a WDW lake and you might be glad to have those winter accessories!

Of course I grew up in Hawaii so cold hits me hard - and in Hawaii you can tell the locals by who is wearing shorts and a sweater (when it's 65 degrees) sometimes even a parka!!

I grew up and still live near the ocean. Get that ocean dampness into you. ( I'm not bragging or complaining) I actually work near the water mostly in winter. The ink in my pen froze in 0 degree wind chill weather when I was out there for 2 hours. I work outside with no coat until late November or early December. Like someone else said , it's all in what you're used to.
