long term weather

Does anyone know where I can get a weather forecast for longer than 10 days. I am heading to WDW on Feb 1st and I am starting to get worried about the weather. Every 10 day forcast shows rain off and on until the 10 days are up.

www.accuweather.com will go 15 days. That's the longest I've seen. But, it's changing everyday. One time it's going to be in the upper 70's with sun, then I check the next day and it's rain and low 60's. We leave Saturday!!!!:sohappy:

Weather forecasts in most areas in the world decrease significantly in accuracy after 48 hours, so i would take the forecast with a pinch of salt.

The problem with most big weather forecasts sites is that they are automated. Using 1 model the computer generates a forecast based on the MOS (model output statistics). There's no human interaction with it, so even if there's a slim chance of rain the site will show the day as rainy. I do my own forecasting and actually think forecasts are fairly accurate out to about 5-7 days, depending on model performance. Beyond that is pure speculation. So, while I could give you a Feb 1 forecast now, it's pretty useless. Wait until closer to time. for the next 2 weeks, the pattern appears pretty active, but that doesn't mean it will stay that way.

There's always the Farmers Almanac! :hammer:

But seriously, a forecast longer than 10 days out is essentially a guess.

When I go to WDW, I almost hope for a day or two of rain, because the parks are noticeably less crowded and lines are reduced. Works great for Epcot, MK, and DHS, since most of the attractions are indoors. AK is another story, since so much is outdoors. And of course rain does tend to put a damper on swimming and water park plans.

I can almost guarantee that it will be rainy or cold, or both, on March 1st. That's this year's date for a certain event, and the weather is always terrible for an outdoor, on the water wearing tank tops and little shorts, sporting event. :ROFLOL:
