Locker for my camera during Key Tour?

I'm taking the Magic Key Tour and need to know if I should rent a locker for my camera? When I booked the tour the CM told me that no cameras are allowed. We're planning to stay at the park after the tour so should I rent a locker (would it be safe) or should I kept it in the safe at the hotel?

Is this the same as the Keys to the Kingdom tour? Not familar with the Magic Key tour. Anyway I took the whole keys to the kingdom tour at Magic Kingdom with a camera and camera phone in my pocket. Just never took them out to take pictures of any of the backstage areas or anything. They don't strip search you or frisk you or anything. So if you're camera is pocket-able, just put it in your pocket and don't take it out until the tour is over.

Keys Tour

Yes, it is the Keys to the Kingdom Tour, I think "magic" all the time. My camera is big so it has it's own case; therefore, they will know it's a camera in there!

Lockers are available at MK under the train station for $5. I'm not sure when they open vs. normal park hours but if you call guest relations they can tell you. Guest relations may be able arrange a locker for you as part of the tour

If you tour is starting before park opening, you would probably be able to carry it, since the locker rental may not be open. If the park is open, then I'd say get a locker, and enjoy having one less thing to carry with you! :)

You should be okay carrying it. My experience backstage has always been that the castmembers tell you that if they catch anyone taking any pictures, they'll have to confiscate the film. As long as you keep it in the case, I doubt you'll be bothered.

On both of the "no photography" tours I've been on (Keys to the Kingdom and Backstage Magic), the guides allowed us to keep our cameras as long as we didn't take any backstage pictures. As a matter of fact, they told us there would be a few locations (when we were onstage) that we might want to take photos. This, like everything else on a tour, varies by the guide you have. Most are quite nice and will take you at your word that you won't take any backstage pictures. BTW -- If nothing else, you'll want to make sure you have your camera with you when you arrive for the Keys tour. If you booked the early one, you'll be rewarded with an almost-empty Main Street USA to photograph.

Left my camera in my car

My best friend and I took the Keys tour in early April and since we would be going to Epcot after that, we decided to leave our cameras in my car. That is always an option if you don't want to pay for a locker or are going to another park later on that day.
