Which vacation home "neighborhoods" are closest to Universal? Unfortunately, we won't be visiting Disney on our trip in December. We'll only be going to Universal and IOA/ So which homes would be closer to them? Also are there any busses or anything that run from the neighborhoods to any malls? My Grandmother and her sister will be going with us and they would much rather go shopping than go to the parks. Crazy huh?

You would need to look east of disney to get the closest to Unversal. Some communities have shuttle buses but they are usually only to the parks.The best idea may be to find somewhere close to 192 and catch the lynx from there to the Malls or drive.

Hello,
There are really no housing developements close to Universal. Here is a link to a map showing most all of the areas...Universal area is all hotels and a suites...

It looks like Indian Wells would work where you could just hop over to I-4...Indian Wells is an older developement so shop carefully.

It might be easy to get a place down on 27 just south of I-4 and hop I-4 way down there and miss all of 192.

Also would work to get a home off 192 in Emerald Island or similar location and take the Sherberth Rd shortcut into Disney, pick up Osceola Parkway and take OP right through Disney and pick up I-4 just east where you exit Disney...
