the boats w/o the the tops? My girls will be crushed..for some reason they call them the wonka boats..they remind them of the boat in the Gene Wilder version of C&the Choc. Factory.

Jeff? Hmmmm...I do know a Jeff who worked at Living with the Land. Might I ask when you encountered this Cast Member?

This was early April 2006. (I believe this instance was April 2 to be precise after lunch time) He was working in the FP line.

OK, quick version of story. We used our FP to get to ride, but when we were about to board my DS age 6 freaked out, he saw the water and was convinced it was a flume ride, which he hates. No matter what we told him he wouldn't go on. So, DS age 9 and I went on while DH and little sat off. Of course after we rode, big son told little son all about it, and he just started crying because he missed it. (the dreaded Disney meltdown) So, DH went up to CM Jeff in FP line and explained situation, asking if he could take him on (stand-by line was about 45 min I think). Jeff said "No Problem, and there is no reason the rest of your family should have to wait for you.", and he waved us all on. He told DS age 6 to have a great time. It really made everyone's day! Thanks Jeff!

They are updating the ride thru with speakers and replacing the CMs for the ride so they can run the ride a full load 24/7 and not have to search for CMs and train them on how to do all the speiling for the ride.

If I remember correctly, either Saturday or Sunday (more likely Saturday) was the last day. They are putting in an automated spiel to replace the Cast Members that use to ride with you. It will increase capacity I surprisingly great deal, which will bring the line size down. Also, I'm pretty sure that they are removing Fast Pass.
Wow now that is cool. I need to check this out next time.

I would love to see the new attraction. My question is how often will they be updating the recording based on what is going on in the greenhouse at that time. Will there be any updates at all? Will there be anyone around to answer questions? It is possible that it will be necessary to experience the behind the scenes tours to really get personalized experiences at Disney in the future.

As will I...we will be at the World during the same dates as Zjer. I have recently been looking at my plant specimen I got during last years visit to "Living With The Land" thinking I first of all had better get to transplanting it ASAP and second how fun it was going to be to again experience the rain and the farm.. I even made reservations for the Garden Grill...so I guess that won't be rotating to the farm view now or will it? Does anyone know?

Man I really hope they don't use those pre recorded voices for the boat ride.. That ride was one of my fav's in Epcot and With out a real person talking you though the ride I think it's going to stink....

While I am for the lines moving quicker, I am not for losing the CMs. For one reason, I feel bad for the CMs that may lose jobs they love. Also, I like having a real person on the boat, seems like it should be that way especially considering that the greenhouses are not the same all the time, you will now get a general speil and could not be pointed to something new and exciting that happened there that week.

Beat...

You never know, Disney might find a way to update it (weekly, monthly) when new plants come in. I wouldn't assume anything just yet...

I guess, but I would think that would be more of a cost issue than having a CM run a boat. I have no clue really.

Either way, I will miss having a CM on board doing the talking. I really think it is an attraction that is really interesting.

Yes, the Garden Grill will be serving for the duration of the rehab.
Ok so the Grill is serving during the duration.. but will the view of "Living wth the Land" farm be blocked from the grill during rehab?:lookaroun The farm is visible from the rotating restaurant right? Since it is only an audio spiel update which is basically the ride vehicles/boats then maybe it will not be blocked?

I'm afraid that I'm not sure of this. I'll see if I can check on it.

What kind of plant specimen did you get?

Depends on how long you take to eat.:animwink:
I guess about 3.8 on average.
It's been slowed down now, before Soarin', you could go around about 3-4 times in one sitting, but now it's been slowed so you can only go around 1-2 times.

I am looking foward to the new lwtl!
