Mouseplanet has just reported that LwtL will close from Aug 21-Sept 17 for the switch. They do mention it is a rumor, but it's 1 more site claiming the news.

I've had horrible hosts on LwtL the last two times I've ridden it. Anamatronics would have had more life to them. That would be cool if there was a futuristic animatronic who was your host, but I'd much rather have a good recording than the horrible CM's I've had the last few times.

Baiscally a pre-recorded narration of the ride for the vechiles, like Spaceship Earth or the Haunted Mansion. This is instead of the live guide.

Sigh, this is no longer a rumor. The orders for the refurb and downtime are well known here at Epcot now.
