>>Also, what about Evac? You're in an "elevator"...Mayby Otis as a possible builder....anyway, how do you get people out? You have at least 2 feet of water underneath and heavy machinery, and at least 8-19 feet above you at all times. Here's a shot of something i just made up. It involves another high capacity elevator in the rear of the vehicle behind the audiance. A CM would also fit into place as maybe playing the female/male character. This way they could do crowd control and help evac and stuff. <<

You lost me...

This is a theater. With Hydrolics under it...Much the same way that HISTA is. I've been thinking about the drop, and think it would be easier if just the seats dropped, multiple times as the squid attacks the ship. Sorta like he was SHAKING the ship, with the low light levels, and flashing lights and fog that would be going off during this part of the show, we should be able to fool them that the whole ship is falling..As for people getting in and out..I thought doors would work well..?

OH!

I thought this would be a theatre in an elevator type of shaft that would actually drop...Universal had some kind of Hanna Barbara sim/movie...4 or 5 people to a "half row"...figure 2 or 3 per actual row... evac should work on the same principals of BW/Star tours...the exit ramps are raised above the cabin, and lowered in an emergency....the entrance ramps have hinges perpindicular to the doors and will rais back up so that they are back to back and paralell to each other during the ride....Smoke and strobe effects could be useful too...anyone that went on that arctic sim at Seaworld Orlando knows what I mean...its pretty effective...maybe some sparks also...

Squid tentacles could retract from holes around the tank with a "flap" at the end so that they can be hidden from view, and they would be able to be "pushed" down when they are cued. Then, some tesla coil type of effect would be used to zap it...or better yet, have the cm have one of those "tasers" and zap it....

BTW, do i need do to anything to join SOJI?

Oh! Tesla Coil! Now THAT sounds like fun!!!
Have a rather large one come down from the ceiling, and shock the crap out of the Squid! Of course, a protective barrier would have to be lowered...But that would be AMAZING! Then, we could use some of those -Blinding- lights that flash really bright, and make it hard to see, then your seats would drop 3 feet, and you would dock at the seabase right when you're eye sight comes back..

The coil may be to much, do to the barrier needed, but geez, that owuld be great...ELECTRICTY!

As long as there's enough metal close enoug for the tesla coil to hit before injuring a guest (unless they had all metal bones and a robotic exoskeleton) it would be fine...phosphorus flashbang type of things might work well for that...but it might blind the audiance...strobe lights would be better...

Just A Few Coments...

Hey, I love this idea...I know I personally haven't been in the Livign Seas in some 12 years or so...An attraction like this oculd just reinvigorate my interest in the pavilion...I had soem thoughts tho...and some of them have already been noted, but I thought I'd say them anyways...

I like the idea of the drop, but I think it would probably be a better idea to jsut drop the seats...maybe in total darkness...then slowly raise them again to hide the illusion...because i was beginig to think about the total weight of the theater to be raised and lifted...oen gallon of water weighs 8.8 pounds or so...can you imagine the entire weight of the theater for just the water alone??? I figure you'll probably need at least 15,000 gallons or so total to make an effetive looking dive pool type thing in the theater...that's already around 132,000 pounds, just of water...not uncluding any mechanical, seats, the theater itself, and whatnot...so, once again, dropping the seats would probably be much simpler...

you also have to consider that this will most likely be an e-ticket attraction...you already knew that by making it high capacity...therefore, this massivly weighty theater would need to be lifted up and down MANY times a day, everyday, for a very long time...........think longevity...

I don't know if this helped or not...but it's the first stuff I thought about...

What if the Living Seas were more like, let's say, a space station under-water? Kind of like Star Trek's Deep Space Nine. That would be cool!
