Sorry, no photos ... don't have that capability.

ALL of the stars are off of Spaceship Earth this morning, but the white pegs they sit on remain. No further progress has been made on the steel structure of the wand itself.

Hopefully someone will have pics later this evening...

Thanks DisneySaint! Great news.

Anyone else at the park today, pictures would be appreciated. It's so nice that SSE is returning to her former glory.

I'm going to write my 'thank you' letter to Brad Rex now...

To thank him for leaving EPCOT in better hands...that's why! :drevil:
Brad Rex was one of the greatest VPs Disney had for any of their parks, Epcot included. I met him several times...very nice guy, very personable, easy to talk to, and funny. He cared about the park and where it was headed. There are a lot of things that go into making a decision like removing the wand, far more than simply the VPs approval.

but you have to admit the timing involved (with Epcot getting a new VP and suddenly events to mark the 25th were in the works and the wand started coming down) is intriguing.

I think all the positives you are currently seeing happening at Epcot are still coming from his tenure.

On my first trip 2000 I was really disappointed with Epcot. It just seemed that any modern element was lacking. Now Epcot has moved to my second favorite after MK. Ak is a solid third, with DS falling to fourth.

]Epcot has really taken a step in the right direction. It is refurbing attractions and is not turing into a PIXAR haven. Heck, they even got an attraction for Donald Duck. I would also argue MK is heading in the same direction, but we need to learn more about future rehabs and refurbs to know for sure.

but glad to see the progress was done to have that removed. Now I wonder how it looks now, just empty.
