Little Einstein Coaster at DHS?

As a parent taking my young children to WDW, I appreciate distractions and things for the young children and toddlers to do while my DW and I take turns switching out. For example, between Thunder Mountain and Splash Mountain, there is a small playground for young children. This has saved us many times while we go on the bigger rides. Many places around WDW have enough things to do in all areas to occupy a wide age group except for one area (IMHO). In DHS, there is really nothing for young children to do around RNR and TOT except wait impatiently. I would really appreciate if Disney would build some sort of play area in this vicinity to occupy the young children waiting. Better yet, I was thinking if they could build a kids coaster like Goofy's Barnstormer in this area, that would be great. They could theme it based on Little Einsteins Rocket or something popular on Disney Channel with this age group. My wife and I love TOT and RNR -- it's just hard to juggle the kids (DS 3 and DS 1)....anyone have similar thoughts?

Sounds like a great idea to me. I personaly would like to see something for kids to do too. Heck they have the Aerosmith music already playing in the area, I could see another vekoma rollerskater in the area even called RnRC Jr.

I agree. A coaster may not be need, a play area would be fine. Infact a play land themed with Little Einstien's and musical stuff ie: notes, instruments etc would be a great tie in with RnR. Quincey is always playing some sort of insturment, Annie is always singing and Leo is conducting, so it could work.

Funny the PP said "No", I think anything added to DHS would be great, espically if it for little ones. I have a 3.5 year old and that 2.5 year old and the only reason we have gone to DHS in the last two years is Playhouse Disney's concert's in Sept. BTW Dan Zanes and Imagiation Movers were truly wonderful.

I love all the little play areas in WDW and would welcome more! Be careful though, there's a lot of PPS (pooh's playful spot) haters out there. I don't know why they don't want the children to play!?!

I don't think anyone has a problem with play areas in general, after all if kids are in play areas then they aren't directing thier parents to run over guest in thier strollers.
The problem wit PPS is that it sits on prime realestate and was a lackluster replacement to 20,000 Leauges Under the Sea. I did get the pleasure of riding on 20K but my DH did and was very disappointed that it was gone and that his kids miss a ride on it. PPS is a cute play area but I wouldn't mind seeing it gone for a great E ticket attraction.
As I said in my prev post the DHS really could use a play area for younger kids in the RNR and TOT area of the park. Heck you could even play there while waiting for the Beauty and the Beast show. From memory there seems to be oodles of space around RnR entrance.

I'd love for them to put a mini-coaster (a la Barnstormer) somewhere else in the World. The little ones need a thrill, too. Hopefully, if this "Crush coaster clone" rumor comes to be, the height might be somewhere around 37 inches.

You want a playground, go to your local McDonald's. WDW should offer unique experiences.

I do to some degree agree with you about playlands and MC Donalds. But if WDW is a family park than should be something for little ones that can't particpate in Big Thrills do to kill time. A la small play area at Splash.
I do not want a play area every 5 feet or think one is needed in an areas like Fanatsy Land. Or the Bone Yard at AK, cool play area but right where there are places for kids to get on attractions, like Hester and Jesters. My point is to space them out in areas where little kids get board or antsy. DH and I love TOT and RnR but when you do rider swap during a slow time it is still an hour for us both to ride both rides and we can't really split b/c the rider swap.

I could take them in to a gift shop where they will want to touch everything and cry b/c I won't buy them whatever they HAVE to HAVE that minute. Then I would get flammed here for my bratty kids throwing a fit in a gift shop and what a bad parent I am for even letting my kids in the gift shop. Or I could let them run amuck and trip and fall and blame Disney. Or I could forget I left them in stoller parking like that family did at POTC.
These are just ideals to keep little kids occupied in a area of DHS where they have nothing to do, not make WDW suck.

You are hitting my point exactly -- we usually go in during the September slow time when you could almost walk on most attractions and you hit on my point, it takes over 1 hour to for both me and my wife to do both TOT and RNR without anything reasonable within the area for the kids to do other than get impatient with us. I think some strategically placed play areas, or kids rides would be nice. At least that way, one could take the kids on something while the other rides the more thrilling attractions. Just like in Tomorrowland -- one can go on Buzz Ride while the other rides Space Mtn, then do it again and switch. We can go to Mission Space and the other can take the kids to the play area at the end of the ride. This is awesome...just not the same options in DHS in the vicinity of TOT and RNR. I am not asking for Disney to take anything away from the Disney Purists out there that get easily offended and rude on these sites. I am just trying to make the experience a bit more enjoyable for those of us that love the same attractions like everyone else, but needs some balance for the little ones (and to keep the parents saniety).

Yes to Disney playgrounds

If I was a kid, I'd take Mickey's Toontown or Honey I Shrunk the Kids Playset over the McDonald's playground any day.[/quote]

add Pooh's Play area at MK...when my kids were little, they loved being able to cut loose on the playgrounds after spending quite a bit of time in line for rides. and those playgrounds are way better than the typical city park or McD's. Now that my "baby" is 19, I don't begrudge the space at all...I'd far rather see those little kids enjoying Disney than the squirming/whining in line for rides they can't ride anyway.

Or here's a novel idea: Disney could build more rides that everyone can ride, not thrill rides with height restrictions.

While I don't know if I think a kiddie coaster at DHS is a great idea, I agree that DHS doesn't have a lot of offerings for little ones. A nice play area wouldn't be terrible. Maybe something for Pixar Place?

I love the well done play areas. Pooh's playful spot just sin't that well done for the amount of space it takes up. They could have really done something nifty, and they didn't really do much. And it does sit on PRIME real estate. While I'd rather that space was used for something grand, the least they could have done was make something better for the little ones.

thats a good idea, there arent many things to do there for little kids, except to eat, the great movie ride(which can scae the heck out of kids), and play house disney live
disney needs to make an equal amount of rides for the older set, as well as the younger set.
