New Jersey. Good old New Jersey. Especially Bergen County (where I live) We love to hold on to *** backwards laws longer then anyone else in this great union. Self serve gas? NAH!!! Beer for sale in C-stores and Super-markets? NAH!!!! Shopping on Sundays? DON'T YOU F-ING DARE!!!

I lived in NJ until I was 26. When I moved to FL, I couldn't believe you could buy beer at every gas station.

I remember the first time I drove to PA from NJ and had to pump my own gas - I thought it was primitive and gross lol. Then I found out NJ is the only state where you can't pump your own gas. Now when I go visit, I hate sitting there waiting for someone to come and do it for me.

Hey, can we get this thread back on track? I believe everyone is required to explain the alcohol sales laws in their home state and add in a story of an oddity in buying liquor.

So, theoretically...
I'm seeing about a mile and a third each way t from Jambo House to 1001 Liquors on East Orange Lake Boulevard.
Can anyone beat that?

Disney Springs Speedway (ignore the unfinished bus terminal, old aerial, it's complete now)...

Waitaescond, I may have found it.
Almost a mile exactly from the bus stops at Disney Springs marketplace to Goodings Liquor Store at Lake Buena Vista Crossings. It's a grocery, too, and there are sidewalks with crosswalks the whole way.

Yeah, we talked about them but they're not going to have liquor.

Yeah, you talked about what the OP didn't want, i.e., liquor. He wanted beer.

But, if the OP changes their mind and wants the hard stuff, like you and others have said, the liquor store at Crossroads through Hotel Plaza neighboring resorts of Disney Springs. It's 1.5 miles. Not so bad a walk going there, a beast carrying groceries back. So, I usually recommend walking there and Ubering directly back to your resort.

We have always called at Hess for a few beers, wine and soft drinks in the past, saving around 60-70% on Disney prices. We haven't been since 2014 and I've heard it's not so easy to walk to now the road layout has changed, has anyone been since Downtown Disney became Disney Springs?

Hi,
New to the forum - haven't been to WDW for many years (first time as an adult). We will be staying at POR next month and would like to pick up a few beers to enjoy in the evenings after the kidlets are in bed. I may have missed it but there seems to be a lot of "you SHOULD be able to pick up beer at the Speedway by DS" but nothing concrete. We have dinner reservations at Raglan Road our first night, so we will already be in DS, and would be ok with walking to the Speedway to pick some up after dinner rather than using a delivery service. Can anybody help a brother out and confirm if they actually do sell beer?
Cheers

Yes, any grocery store will deliver it, but he would need to be there in person to sign for it. I'm surprised no one else thought of that (including myself).
Oh dang I must have missed the first poster saying he wouldn't be there! That would be a delivery I wouldn't want to miss.

Maybe he will, I'm not sure. I just remember reading on a Disney Facebook page about someone ordering beer from Safeway saying she had to be there to sign for it (unlike regular groceries that can be dropped off).

Yeah that makes sense. I do remember when we almost ordered ours there was a notice on the site that you had to be there to sign for it and show Id.

When did this start? I have ordered beer and wine from Garden Grocer before, and never had to sign for it. I did have to fax them my drivers license, but I did not have to be there.

When I was considering ordering groceries for our trip last October. I could be wrong but I feel like I remember them saying I was going to have to show Id to accept delivery.

Right from their website FAQ

Do I need to be present to receive a delivery? No, .... "when alcohol is delivered, it will be room temperature because bell services soesn't have enough refrigerator space"

I DID have to send them my Drivers License info, I believe I faxed it once, and last time I think I took a picture and emailed it to them.
