Lion King vs. Nemo at AoA

My friends and I are narrowing down our plans for our Oct 2013 trip and pretty much the only thing holding us back from booking is which part of Arts of Animation to stay in. One friends suggested Nemo, because it's close to everything while another friend suggested Lion King because she suspects it would be a little quieter since it's not right in the middle of everything and is fine with a little more walking. I know that quiet isn't exactly something you'll find in DW in the long run, but does anyone know if Lion King is anymore quieter than Nemo?

AoA is all enclosed, unlike Pop...so it's, by nature, quieter in the rooms. However, Nemo overlooks the VERY busy main pool. I'd do Lion King. That area doesn't even have a pool. It was always very quiet over there when I walked through (I was at Pop in August for 2 weeks and spent a lot of time over at AoA).

As far as the walking, it's no different then being in the 50s area at Pop. The layout of the two hotels in terms of pool, main hall, transportation, etc are almost exactly the same, to give you a point of reference (assuming you have stayed at Pop).

Hope that helps!

I disagree. The Lion King area is only a 2 - 3 minute walk max from both Animation Hall and the Pool. As I learned on my last trip to Pop (where I paid extra for "preferred room"...BIG mistake. Great room, I was on the 4th floor right next to the yoyo that is near the Laundry by the main pool), it was loud...all the time. I'd rather have saved the money and walked an extra 50 steps a day.

I don't really think of the Lion King as any sort of real walk. It's awfully close. I wouldn't avoid it based on distance unless you really hate to walk.

There is something to be said for being far from the main building and pool. IMO, anyway. I like as much peace and quiet as I can get, lol. I would never pay more to stay in a busier area. To each, his own.

The way I see the walking, if you're going to Disney World you're gonna be doing a lot of walking already, so what's a little bit more? This all helps a lot. Thanks.

I'll throw out another idea and suggest the Cars section. It's certainly the section with the coolest theme - the courtyard is beautiful after it gets dark. Also, if you're not interested in the big swimming pool you have a smaller, quieter pool just outside your door. The cones with the chairs and tables are just the cutest! Cars building #1 is practically next door to the Animation Hall and the Nemo pool if you're concerned about distance.

Not sure if you're referring to Pop or AoA but I'm pretty sure there are no preferred rooms at AoA, the suites are all the same price no matter where you stay.
