Linking tickets to new magic bands?

I want to buy Magic Bands for my grand kids. I would need to buy them from the Disney store. They are not annual pass holders. How would I link the tickets to Magic Band's when I buy them? I would like to be able to do this before we get to WDW. Is this possible or do I need to do it at the parks when we arrive?
