Because I am bored:

What are some of everyone's favorite games to play when they are:

Standing in Line (for most americans)
Standing ON Line (for East Coast Types like me)
"Queing up" (for our UK friends)

Let everyone know how you like to pass the time, especially thos of us who are without kids to entertain (or who entertain us!:hammer: :sohappy: :xmas:

When standing IN LINE, from Jersey also, we look for hidden Mickeys. We also do a lot of people watching.

If my sister is with us, we do Disney Trivia. Or, we'll talk bout the ride we're bout to get on. Like, inside stuff about it. So, pretty much we talk like disney freaks while in line!

History of the world!

This game takes some getting used to, but it's great for those who have active imaginations!
Here's how it works:

You give me 3 variables and I have to tell you a story immediately using that information. No time for thinking, points off for hesitation over 15 seconds and for every use of "uh" or "um". If you want to get really strict, you can include a time limit on the actual story.

How it's played (Example):
Sally - "Joe, I want you to tell me the history of (1st variable - example) lawn mower, including (2nd variable) Bill Clinton and (third variable) a lion."
Joe - "Well, Hillary and Bill were sitting around in the white house, when a lion lept from the from lawn in through the window, shattering it and landing right on Bill! Hillary and the secret sevice men all pulled out thier guns and fired on the lion, finally killing it. But it was too late for poor Bill. As you can imagine, Congress (and Hillary) were pretty upset about this, so they sat down and tried to figure out what went wrong. Turns out there was a varitable jungle in the front yard of the White House! The grass was so high, something had to be done. So they called on all the engineers to design something to cut grass. They saw 300 different contraptions, but none of them could handle the load. Then Hillary tried her hand at it and built the world's first effective lawn mower, cutting down the jungle in the front yard."

Whoever has the most "points" in the end, gets to pick the seats (front vs rear). :sohappy:

Suggestions of rules would be:
No histories where "god" or "aliens" intervene.
One of the variables must be a person, or a living thing.
One of the variables must be a "history of _______"
And if there are little kids around, be careful what sort of "history" or "variables" you give out!

I guess it depends on the line.

For long lines we have a contest to see who can b*tch and moan the most. :animwink:

Short lines we don't play that game.

We each usually choose a number before the day begins and we see if that is the ride vehicle we ride in. When we've been going lately (Sept/Oct), the lines are too short to play games.

I've never personally tried him, but I heard Pal Mickey has some games on him to keep you entertained. I don't know if the games are kid geared though (possibly no challenge to older "kids")

Most car games such as I Spy, 20 Questions, and the hand slap games are good for waiting in line (If u don't know what any of them are just ask and i'll give u directions) Also, hand held electronic games are good for standing in line. They have card games, car racing ones, and a ton others. Game boy is good too.

Personally, I agree with cj2me. I like to look for hidden mickeys. www.hiddenmickeys.org has a good list to get you started. A good many of the hidden mickeys are in (or on) line (or queue) and gives you something to do while waiting (especially if you print out the list...then you will have them right in front of you and you can check them off as u go along....think of it as a never ending game.

I've never played this at WDW, but when I'm bored sometimes my friends and I will play "would you rather." It's a ridiculous game where you come up with two really random things and you have to decide which one you would that have. For example:

Would you rather:

Have salami for fingernails

OR

Fart purple dust

You then have to pick which one you would rather have and justify your reasoning. The funnier the situation the better the game is.

Here for you information is a British perspective. When queuing I anticipate the pleasures that will be experienced by my participation in the forthcoming attraction. Otherwise I will stand perfectly upright, shoulders back (never slouching, perish the thought), remain calm collected with a stiff upper lip and try not to bemoan the fact that one just can’t get a decent cup of tea in the park.

I’m sorry, I can’t type anymore with a straight face. In reality I go off peak, so never experience really long lines. I’ll use the time to people watch, take in the area or chat to the folk in the same boat.

Tifani thought up this game sitting in the GF lobby...But, with the numbers 1-10, one person says a number, then the other says another, very quickley...using only numbers 1-10, and you cant repeat them one after another...so, the person cant say yours, and you cant say the same number you said before there number...

me-1
you-3
me-9
you-7
me1

now, try it with someone, and see how "Easy" it is to not say the same number:D

Usually me and my friends try to...........uh.. ya know....pick up women.

Usually if we are behind two hot girls we will argue, loudly so they hear us, about kiddie rides, like "Wow dude, Winnie the pooh is sooooooo much better" "No way dude, peter pan is the best ride here" Then they'll laugh, and we'll ask them what ride they like more, and we strike up a conversation.........It's easy in Disney

line games... line games.

well it depends on what ride.

Mansion - count the screaming children, tourists shouting the tombstone epitaphs, people pointing at the Leota tombstone, and try to find the Obligitory Brit.

Jungle Cruise / Thunder Mt - Where's The Hidden Quere? (JC bonus: Why Is There A Warthog Skeleton Shrine and/or Jump At The Spider)

Space Mt - Just WHAT Are Those Astronauts Working On, Anyway?

Pooh - I dunno, but you better be able to do it for hours and hours...

Malestrom - Spot That Mickey Watch

O Canada! - sing theme theme song. no really, it's fun.

really a lot of Disney queres (like Pirates and Splash) are quite good with detail and whatnot, so there's not really any need for games, in my mind...

PAL Mickey does have games. But it helps if you remember to bring him to the parks with you. I seem to forget him quite often!

I always just turn on my iPOD and listen to the music from the attraction Im waiting to go on (I.E. Splash Mountain-The track they have from the official album with basically the whole ride on there).

Lately when Ive been entering an area (Like Hollywood Blvd Ill put on Hooray for Hollywood, when I get to the Indy/Star Tours, Ill play The End title for Temple of Doom (Since thats the track they use for Indys theme and the theme song for Star Tours in that area).

Although crappy games, Ill play the games on my iPOD (Parachute, Ill act like those jumpers are terrorists or something and shoot away).

When Im not doing that Ill just listen in on peoples conversations and see what they're saying wrong about the attractions.

Or Ill just look for the "reported" HMs for the Hidden Mickey's website, I do a little work for the guy who runs the site (He'll contact me and say "Hey if you are at *Attraction*, look out for this, this and this HM or find out about this fact....so he basically asks me to double check the reports).

When I am queing (New York) for a line, I try to not think about the pain in my legs, and how annoying everyone around me is...people who dont keep their kids under control and people who speak other languages LOUD in my ear....so I dont really play any games..
