Lightning Lane at Walt Disney World

I've tried to keep up with the post but can't. Think it's going to be a "from this post forward" kind of read. So sorry if this stuff has been asked

A) Where do we have confirmation about being able to book a 2nd LL after so much time if the current booking is later in the day? Is this just based on how MaxPass works/worked? I was curious if maybe to prevent something being "sold out" by an early time, that maybe they do X number of "drops" so many times a day, so say when you look at 12 you may not see anything for BTMR but if you looked at 1, there could be 1:30 available...

B) What will be used to validate the LL? Same as before (Magic Band, Card, Magic Mobile etc)?

I would expect much of the same, just with the added ability to reserve in the genie app.

Now.. update ddp to be only prix-fixe and make the reservations day-of only.... That would make things spicy :)
Yeah, we sometimes take DDP depends on who all is going. If DDP will only be a Prefix menu at all restaurants we wont again.

I think people are really overestimating the time they will be spending in the morning. If you choose to, you can log on and try for a boarding group, pick your first lightning lane ride and/or the two you want to pay for. You aren't selecting a day's worth of passes.
When traveling with small children (and probably older children too) and trying to rope drop though, every morning is like trying to get everyone up and dressed and off to school on time. So adding any task during that time sounds stressful to me. Even if it’s just one simple worksheet, no one looks forward to hearing “But mom, I forgot and I need this for school todaaaaay…” as they’re doing the Morning Mad Dash.

We may be able to assume more people won’t be willing to pay for individual ride access so hopefully standby is more manageable with way less fastpass use on these individual pay rides.

So you may just wait in the regular line for some of those rides, and only pay the money for a line that is completely unreasonable and you just

If they actually are on the high end only $24 per person they will sell like crazy. But I doubt that is official.

So let's say you get up at 7 AM and book one, at 9 could you book another and have two ready to go? If so I don't hate that
So I can get up, book a pass for 3pm, then 2 hours later book one for 4, then at 11 book another for 5 and show up to the park at 3pm with my 3 fastpasses?

Sounds like an annoying, confusing, expensive fastpass+

So when you want faspasses you buy Genie+ and use the lightning lane...
what is it called when you buy your way into a specific lightning lane? why is there no name for that?

So you pay to get into the park and then pay some more money $$ to ride the rides.
Greed at its finest!!
No.

Standby and VQs [for RotR and Rat] don't cost extra.

Many people went to the parks without planning or using FP+ and still got on rides. You can still do that without any upsells.

The difference is that FP now costs extra.

So they’ve made it such that staying on property is essentially a prerequisite to ride ROTR and Rat.
No.

Joining the BG/VQ 'lottery' is still 'free' to all guests at 7 AM.

*Purchasing* an entry to Rat or RotR costs money. And on-site guests get a jump on the chance to *buy* access to these two rides.

Is Disneyland keeping paper Fastpasses or are they going away as well? MaxPass was on top of the traditional system so Genie+ could just take place of that. I don't think I've seen a clear answer either way.

A friend of mine did yesterday. That is a total of five friends or family that have cancelled trips over a variety of bad Disney decisions. My wife and I talked about it last night and almost did so ourselves but the fact that I am a huge SW nut and am going nuts over experiencing GE at least once made us decide to continue on this one last time.
It’s based on the debacle triplets and solo…if you want a splash of cold water on it to help your decision?
You guys are hilarious.

This is a $15 per day price increase. That's it. It's not more sinister than that. You're acting like they decided to rip out Splash Mountain and replace it wi...

Wait...
I seem to remember similar economic forecasts when the first menu bump/dining plan reduction occurred.
