For the first time since launching at Walt Disney World, Genie+ has sold out for the day.

Just wait until RnR closes starting tomorrow…

That will be even worse as the FL inclement weather starts to roll in more often in the spring and every time Slinky Dog goes down, a large batch of genie Plus replacements will have people using them at the other three or so options people would actually want to use them on in the park.

I got a replacement from Tower once that excluded MMRR and Slinky. Hopefully they’ll exclude some of the others so they can go use their LL to watch Frozen Sing-along or ride Star Tours.

They already do this to an extent. Frozen Ever After went down when I had an LL for it and it excluded the other four headliners at Epcot (even Soarin was excluded) but I could have used it on Nemo, Figment, SSE, etc.
Another reason why the system is overrated. You are too easily not getting the value you paid for.

You will never get value from EPCOT or DAK, especially DAK.

The foot traffic and backtracking alone there is wild.

I remember hearing a family over by Nemo's theater restrooms that they could get Safaris as their next option for Genie Plus. The walk to go there to nab that and back to the course of their day is going to waste much more time than anything they could have done with simple flow and strategy. Personally, that was my witness to Genie Plus not being worth it.

Here’s where I have a lot of trouble with the new system. Take what I expect will eventually be the case for Tron as an example. I can pay $616 just to get into the park with a family of 4. Then, if I want to go on tron, I can choose to waste multiple hours of my day (effectively reducing the value of the ticket) or, I can fork over another $120ish so my family can go on a 60s ride.
Good thing is you won't have to do Tron standby, it will be on a Virtual Queue for at least the first six months of opening.
