That's wrong on so many levels.
Worse still, when they had pushed through everyone, there was 5 of their friends in the pushing in party!!

They got lucky cos they only had to jump under 2 or 3 ropes as the queue was just outside still.

I saw loads of people doing similar....on their phones by the rope waiting for the party already in the queue to come round to that area, then ducking under the ropes.

And again today...waiting for the park open to get a LL+ for Avatar FOP...managed to get a 5pm slot, got to the payment page...pressed pay...it toggled round for 30 seconds then said there's been an error and to start again...at which point all the LL+ had gone.

Thanks Disney.

That happened to me every day when i tried to get FOP and ROTR (needed email code)

This is one of the several reasons i will not go back........

We paid over $1k a night for a stupid hotel room and there's no guarantee that you can get on the headliners without a 2 hour wait

all done.........Genie+ is terrible and I hate what Disney has become (and we loved Disney our whole lives)

And yet again...in the HUGE queue for Rise and there's TONS of people who have sent someone early to get to the front of the queue while later the rest of their family/group waltz right past the rest of the queue who have been waiting an hour or two to the front of the queue.

DISNEY PLEASE STOP THIS!!!! - I've seen 2 or 3 times now on this holiday where its almost come to blows where someone stops the queue jumpers and it comes to stern words.

It needs stopping and it needs announcing clearly that NOBODY can join the queue other than at THE BACK.
Can always bring back the notorious plexiglass queue dividers / liners.

I really can’t wrap my head around the forced artificial scarcity and lottery system Disney has put in place.

They are deliberately putting up roadblocks and forcing inconveniences into every step of a guest’s vacation.

Absurd hotel prices. No tram service. Requiring guests to get up at the crack of dawn every day (atomic clock in hand, no less) to play an absurd game of attraction roulette.

An over reliance on cellphones. Cash upcharges for the most popular rides. Mobile ordering. Park reservations. And the list goes on.

It just doesn’t make any sense.

As I was reading the discussion today, I thought back to how much fun it was walking on to WOM, Horizons and the original JII at Epcot mid-90s. Before taking the monorail to the MK and doing most of the rides there, including all the headliners, in a single evening.

How in the world are people okay with the h—- scape that Disney park touring has become in 2021?

What on earth are the guest satisfaction numbers going to look like after folks pay a fortune to be subjected to all this?

Is the ability to say “we increased in-park guest spending 30%” really worth destroying just about every facet of the guest experience?

I can only conclude that those running the show are either totally clueless, unbelievably sadistic, and/or completely incompetent. Or all three.

Or perhaps the company is in far worse financial shape than they are admitting to. Because none of this makes any sense. At all.

If people are going, and they can reduce staffing, mission accomplished. I keep waiting for the other shoe to drop but I don’t think it will — barring a natural disaster, terrorism, and/or economic crash.

100% exactly how we feel. Pre Pandemic we went to Orlando 3 times a year (January,May then September) for about 5 years....we thoroughly enjoyed the experience, especially FP+... but having tried this Genie rubbish for 2 weeks, we can categorically say we will never be back to Orlando again.

It's just too much hassle, too much time on the phone and too needlessly expensive (for Genie LL etc on top of entrance fee)

We will enjoy our last 3 days (Universal,Sea World and Busch Gardens)...but pur time holidaying in Orlando has unfortunately come to a premature end.

We are going to tour the them parks in Europe now and go to Tokyo to see both their Disney Parks.

The decisions are being made by people completely disconnected from the actual guest experience driven to meet the demands of people who don’t really have interest in or familiarity with the industry. They are people who go into a complete panic every time there is a very small cyclical downturn in visitation or Easter is on the wrong Sunday because they are so unfamiliar with their own business that they can’t explain such a regular, normal occurrence to Wall Street.

It also doesn’t help that there are vocal fans who want them to continue as they are instead of buckling down and addressing the root issues.

I disagree.........Right now there is still a ton of pent up demand travel (including unused DVC points), the 50th anniversary factor plus numerous other factors (savings rates high, consumer spending high, etc)

I feel like once this is gone that Genie+/ILL will affect bookings. Once you step back and look at what you get for a significant price increase, people will push back.................

I think Disney hotel booking will suffer the most since there is little to no incentive to stay there (no more ME, have to pay for parking, no advance booking of FP+, significant price increases, no advantage to booking dining, have to pay for magicbands etc, etc etc)

Gosh, that sounds DELIGHTFUL!! :rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes:
It may not sound like a lot of fun for many people but it has come down to ways like this if you want to get something when it is gone 8 seconds into the hour. I actually enjoy the competition and part of the reason I bought a $1,200 5G phone last year was to give me a slight speed increase whenever I would try to get a boarding pass for RotR. Disney changed the script on that one and it is now done a bit differently but the phone is still nice and it takes great pics. :)

Tomorrow morning, I'm going to get up a bit before 6:00am (I live in the CST zone) and see about getting a virtual queue for Remy. I know it will not let me get all the way through the process because I do not have a park ticket for that day but I want to see how many times it will let me get down to the point before it tells me that the virtual queue is closed.

... what's weird is the form will let me say sadist but not 🤔

I'm not sure which direction the oversight is in, exactly, but I'm going to just pretend like I'm not going to get in any trouble for this post... To quote a great line from Huncback "Better to..."

Why would a resort guest have any advantage? SDD is on the Genie + tier and not an ILL. First Genie + ride can be selected at 7am for all guests in or off site.

However, SDD is a very high demand ride and quickly becomes unavailable. At 7am keep refreshing every few seconds until 7:20 ( and YES, 7:20 is accurate despite what others say). The ones who do not get it check from 7 to about 7:05 or 7:10 and give up. I saw availability every day of Thanksgiving week pop up for SDD until about 7:20. And some of the times were actually earlier ones like 1 or 2 pm. After about 7:20 you are completely out of luck. It is still not fun to have to do this at 7am on your vacation as opposed to the old FP + way, but if you have patience you'll get what you want. On New years week. I'll grab Genie + before I even buy Rise. Because from watching it all week, Rise had sporadic availability pop up until 730. You just have to be quick and ready and you have a shot at both. by 11 am though you probably will not have a lot to choose from.
On property guests get to make LL selections at 7am. Off property guests must wait until park opening, giving on site guests a 2-3 hour advantage
