Nothing......we never go before noon........my point is, there will be no value in buying Genie+ unless you wake up at 7am and do rope drop

a lot of rides will likely be gone by the time we get to the park

Your assuming this is the case. You do not know this for sure.. word will get out quick that it's not worth the price.

Right and that stinks because we have never rope dropped in the 50 years we've been going to WDW and we never buy park hopper.............

And i think i am in the majority vs the minority on that
I’ll admit, I am a rope dropper (mainly because I’m an early to rise, early to bed person) but I’m not a park hopper. To me, it is a time suck. I like to get to a park for rope drop and stay til I’m done. I’m not a fan of leaving for breaks or going to other parks. The transportation is so time consuming 🤷🏻‍♀️

It’s fascinating to see the thoughts here, while I totally get the “I’m on vacation I want to sleep in” thoughts, I would counter with what goes through my mind, I’m paying a lot of money to be at WDW, I should plan my day to take advantage of it. I always rope drop and close. That said I park hop, have a table service meal everyday and usually take an afternoon break (and sometimes a nap.) The parks are at their most unpleasant in the early afternoon, they are so much nicer in the mornings and evenings.
In case you were not aware, people do vacation differently......I did that when my kids were little, now they are teenagers and they dont wake up until 10am-11am.......We are at parks until 1am while you've probably been asleep for 3 hours and i cant figure out why you would do that.....

Point is, the system penalizes you....

Please dont argue about how people vacation, that is boring and stupid and happens way too much here....

Which is why I gravitate towards a deluxe with non bus options to two parks (Monorail preferably, but Crescent Lake is nice too.)

Assuming you can, of course. I get your point that they’ll usually be available. Until they’re not, like currently the first week in January has zero availability for DHS for resort guests or ticket holders.

For the IAS / ILL rides you can select your time.

For Genie+ you are offered the next available time.
Can you 'select' your Genie+ time in that if the next available time doesn't work for you, you're able to skip it and be offered the next available after that? Or is it a one chance and you're done?

I doubt that most be gone that quickly. With only being able to pick 1 at a time availability should be good til late in the day. I think most people will pick whatever LL is next time wise. Majority aren't going to purposely look for something later in the day.

I'm going to look for the rides I want to do the most and book whatever time is next available. If there are other rides I'm not as interested in doing that are available sooner or even right away I'm not gonna book it just to get in an extra ride. Lol. I'd take 3 or 4 rides I really want at MK even if i have to wait until later to go on them over being able to say I went on 13 rides with the Genie in one day.

I wont feel jipped if I choose not to use Genie for Nemo and Figment in Epcot lol. Those are walk on mostly anyway.

you cannot and that's my main problem with Genie+.......It "goes backwards" and has the same function of paper Fast Pass that didn't work........Why would Disney go back as opposed to doing something new?

Makes ZERO sense to me

Right but what if you arent getting to MK until noon and next ride available is at 10am, then what do you do?

Reported tolerance with FP+ was 5min early and 15 past end of your time. A few times we showed up 20 min late and were waved in, but one of those was Living Seas (standby and FP were = as it was pretty much a walk-on).

Thanks! I just wanted to make sure we still had an hour from our return time, like with fast pass. 11:00 to 11:50 to ride (something like that, i know that's not an hour ;) )

There is direct park to park transportation between all of them now. Boat, bus, monorail and Skyliner. It's no more time consuming than returning to your resort.

Then wait until 11 and see if the ride is available at noon or later. And even though it might not be available for noon, at least you know you'll have it later. Like I said, I do see situations where you do not get the ride you want st the time you want. Aligning it with your day plans might be tricky..but if you arrive at between 10 and noon like us, you'll still be able to get the rides you want. Book it and wait the two hours for the next one.

Return window and grace period are yet to be determined, though everyone assumes it will be the same as Fastpass.

So you have to check your phone all day to try and time the exact return time? makes no sense.......Why not let you pick your return time if its available? So then i have to wait 2 more hours and the likelyhood of my other selections being gone is higher or the times dont work?

stupid

Why cant it be the following:

Wake up at 9:30am and Im going to Epcot at 3pm- 11pm

Go to book my first Genie+ for TOT and next available is at 11am but 4:30pm is also open........I book 4:30PM on TOT

120 minutes later at 11:30am i go to book my 2nd Genie+ on Soaring and next available is 1:30pm but I want 5:30 and its open so i book 5:30

120 minutes later at 1:30 i go to book my 3rd Genie+ for Space Ship Earth and next available is 3pm but 8pm is also available and that's when i want to ride, why cant i just book 8pm?

This system would not penalize people who do not rope drop and doesnt affect people that want to rope drop

Neither. It's not one chance and done. And you wont be able to choose between two times. You see if the next available works for you. If not you book something else and check again for the ride later on..and it might be 4 or 5 hours later. But you will still be able to go on if you really want to.

I do not disagree with you. That would be better. But you had implied you'd completely lose out on any chance to go on the rides you want. I do not seeing that happen.

Yes of course, it would be better to have a choice of between two times...the next available and a 2nd choice for later.

I don't understand....DHS was listed as a 1 today, but the wait times for the rides are pretty darn long. Reading it's crowded at the parks.

I'm just going to plan on crowds for next week and be done with it.
