If anyone on here has done the program before and stayed in Orlando to live, please tell me, how did you do it?! I think i wanna stay after but i would imagine you either have to save every penny while on the program or come to Orlando with enough saved and not touch it till your program is over? I am at turning point in my life and want to make the right decision!? So if you stayed or if you are there and wanna stay how do you plan on doing so?

you can always extend your program a couple of times and save some money that way and then go full time and find a good place to live near by

What about education wise? I mean do you miss a semester of school or is it easy to take online courses to be able to maintain full time and not fall behind?

I'm facing the same issue myself. I don't want to come back to Miami after my CP. I'm hoping to stay with Disney full-time if I can, or extend my program. If you are looking for a roommate let me know, maybe we can talk about this a little more. If everything works out ok, my family should be moving -or- buying a home in Orlando by next summer(just in time for me to finish my CP) so I could be able to live there. But there's no guarantee. My screenname on aim is dalejr24 if you want to chat soon. :D

Roomates! I was lucky enough after my program to find 3 friends to split a 4 bedroom apartment with (Alexan at Legacy Dunes back then, now Legacy Dunes). The apt was 1100 a month back then, so each of us pitched in 330-ish a month for rent and utilities. VERY do-able on a full time Disney (or similar) salary.

It depends on what you do. Front line CMs usually start around 8 per hour now, entry level salary roles around 32k, and then different roles every where above and below, depending on what you want to do.

That's awesome, and really encouraging LOL. I was thinking it would be impossible to be able to do this, but I guess it's not!:D I'll just make sure I mention it to everyone I talk to on the CP, lol. I'll be there til August so I'll have plenty of time. This is really exciting :)

the best thing to do is to start saving while on the program , open up a saving account and put so much money in there each month. If you dont have a car there you save more money if you do have a car ride the bus as much as you can. While on the program find ppl who are staying as well and start searching for roommates, or you can go on the portal and under a special tab you can do a roommate seach for ppl who are looking either to rent out a room or find roommies.

WOW, they actually have a roommate search on the Disney Portal site? That's awesome!

Not enough to live on that's for sure. Disney pays awful. You either have to have a room-mate, be a two income family, and not reallly need the money and are working for the fun of it.
