Hi everyone,

Can anyone offer some input on the character dinner at the Liberty Tree Tavern? How was the food? Character interaction? You know, fun stuff like that.

We;re heading down the 3rd til the 11th of May and I'd attempted to get a priority seating at Chef Mickey's between 5:30 and 8:00 pm on ANY night and I was told that the place was booked solid. The cast member reccommended the Liberty Tree Tavern.

What a day I'm having! man do I need a vacation!!!!

Go B's!!!!

Bob,

Liberty Tree Tavern is an excellent restaurant. I try to hit it for lunch as many times as I can during a trip. Their turkey and dressing dinner is to die for! The character dinner was ok. It kind of annoyed me, but if you have kids, it's great. They have 5 or 6 characters meandering around to all the tables, playing with the kids, posing for pics etc...

Liberty Tree gets two thumbs up from me...when a character dinner is happening it gets maybe a thumb and a half up (if that makes any sense).

Have fun and enjoy your dinner!

I loved the Liberty Tree Tavern at night. The food was excellent.

There is a salad with some sort of strawberry vinagette dressing that wasn't too bad considering I don't eat strawberries and only like Catalina dressing.

The macaroni & cheese is good as is the roasted turkey, beef flank (like that in The Garden Grill), the ham was very good as well (maybe a little too much honey mustard baste). The mashed potatos and gravy were pretty good as well. The rolls were excellent as well.

I don't have a bad thing to say about any of the food.

As far as the characters, it's pretty cool. The characters are dressed in period pieces from the colonial days. I know Minnie is there and pretty sure Pluto is as well. I can't remember who else.

I would definitely eat there. If you can try and get a PS for an 1-1.5 hours before Spectromagic if it is running. I walked right out and got a good spot right in front.

Libertry Tavern

I also would give a thumbs up to Libertry Tavern. All the food was fresh and like eating a Thanksgiving dinner. The characters were Minnie, Pluto, Goofy and Chip and Dale I think.

I agree with the others, TWO big thumbs up from me. The food is really good, served family style, so you will NOT leave hungry. The characters were a lot of fun. I wore a hat there and goofy took it off my head and messed up my hair ( even more than it already was being stuffed in a hat all day). All the kids thought that was a hoot. It's a lot of fun.:slurp:

Liberty Tree Tavern is one of my favorite restaurants in all of Disney!!! All of the previous postings are right on target including the delicious food and great Characters. They have Minnie, Goofy, Chip and Dale there. Also the price is per person all you can eat(If you want more of any or all items, just ask your server!!), served to your table family style and includes most beverages (sodas, iced tea. etc) the only thing additional is dessert which I have yet to actually have room for!!! Go ahead make the reservation. It is AWESOME!! Let me know what you think after you eat there, if you decide to go!!! :slurp:

I can only agree with the others the restaurant is very good, as long as you like the type of food that is being served. If you not a ham, turkey, and sides person I recommend the Crystal Palace instead. That in my opinion is even better. And a better buy for the 20 dollars.

We were there for dinner on 4-8. They were trying something new with the menu. Instead of getting everything served "family style", you ordered off of a set menu. The selections were turkey, pot roast, pork loins, and I think salmon dish. No haml. Possibly one other entree. The salad was brought individually, but you could have as much salad as you wanted. You only got one serving of the entree, but it was a VERY healthy serving. The characters don't do as much dancing and acting up between tables, probably because not enough room and too many steps around dining area. But they do their usual mischief at the table. This new menu was something they were experimenting with, and they said they didn't know if it was going to be the regular menu. You want to try and confirm this before you make a PS.

I believe the way it works now, is that during lunch you have a regular menu to order from, and for dinner you have the "family style" meal. At least it was that way the last couple of times I was there.

My wife insists that we visit Liberty Tree at least once per WDW visit. Enough has been said about the food. As to characters, every time we have visited, we have seen:

Minnie
Goofy
Pluto
Chip
Dale

We have a blast and our son loves the characters.

PS we have only visited at Dinner.

The Liberty Tree Tavern is my favorite restaurant in the MK. Lunch is great, you order from a regular menu. They have stuff like pot roast, yuuummmmyyy!!!!:slurp: No characters at lunchtime tho

Dinnertime is family-style. You get 3 meats: turkey, ham, and roast beef :slurp: also stuffing, vegetables, macaroni n cheese!, and the best dinner rolls on the planet. God, im just getting over a stomach flu and now im starving!!!

Liberty Tree Tavern is definetely a go.

Heading for the great escape.
In keeping with the very positive responses we had dinner there on our visit last year. It was good, especially the salad dressing as someone else mentioned. The atmosphere was good too. I still think the Crystal Palace is better all round, but I would go again.
My one minor gripe is;
1. Why do they insist on having the same charecters at so many different locations? They must have others than Goofy and the chiopmonks.
