I heard a rumor that they were going to discontinue the character dinner at the LTT. Does anyone know if this is true or not?

Yes. The characters are no longer there. It's a bummer because we've only eaten there once and loved the characters. In fact my Christmas card in 2006 was of my kids and Minnie.

Are they keeping the menu the same? We love LTT for lunch, but never feel like a big holiday meal while at WDW, so we have never tried it for dinner.

The characters are not gone I was there dec 30th-jan 4th we ate there and they were all still there.

I know most love the LTT CM but I must say I have never been to a more rushed CM on property (11/08). I've been to most and this one was just "Hi - pose for picture-gone. I felt like I had to practically tackle Minnie to get a a second photo for my wife. The food was great and so was the waitress. But it seemed to me management told the cast to rush for high turnover.
I went because of all the great reviews but it was a HUGE disapointment. Good riddance. :wave:

We've eaten lunch and dinner there quite a few times and have never felt rushed even during the very busy month's of July & August. Guess you hit it on a bad day.

I'm sorry to see the characters go, but glad they will keep the same menu.

January 4th was the last day for Character dining at Liberty Tree tavern.

Indeed it was the last day for characters, and we had the pleasure of being at one of the last tables for it, ever! My wife and I and our friends had ADR for 8pm on Jan 4th, and we ate and visited until they were clearing off the last tables for the night.

Chip and Dale were unusually mischievous that night. They were taking dinner rolls of of guests' plates and hurling them across the room - hitting each other and even guests. And they'd take turns untying each others aprons and then throwing them across the room as well.

It was hilarious. Minnie had to come scold them. The Character Attendants just stood back and watched after trying to calm them down and get them under control.

We've been there 3 or 4 times before and never witnessed so much fun. We'll miss the experience - but I'll be back for the food for sure!!
