Red Cross says more money will go to families affected more quickly--a full year of daily living expenses will be given by the end of this year, and all monies raised will go solely to victims of the Sept. 11 tragedies.

Good news, indeed.

That certainly is good news. I'm sure money is little consolation to them in some way, but having one less concern I'm sure is helpful.

Thanks for letting us know. :)

I thought the Red Cross had huge GONADS when they declared that about $200 million+ of the half billion dollars they raised was going to be used for "other" causes...
The outrage of the people who donated for this specific cause made them reconsider this in a hurry. Many people were demanding refunds of their donations.
You gotta give guys like Bill O'Reilly a lot of credit for being on top of this whole debacle and saw it coming early on, and then the main stream media picked up on it.

I hate to see the government involved in non-profit organizations like this, but it's time that some form of oversight be installed to see to it that most of the billion dollars+ raised gets to the families or services to help them, and that includes the families of victims from the 80 nations who lost loved ones here too.
