A purpose built attraction with appropriate capacity would have cost less. Don't get me wrong, the area looks great, and the ride is good, but it under delivers on capacity. Add in the toonifaction of World Showcase/Epcot issues and it's still a mistake. The retheme of Maelstrom was reported at over 120 million...
The finished product will be far superior to typhoon lagoon. I just saw pictures of the volcano and it's going up extremely fast and has all the elements mentioned in the video. This theme park will be modern and have all the extreme water rides that Disney lacks. I never have been that impressed by Disney's water parks since they have not added anything since the clinton admin. They really need to create one from scratch.Nice teaser video, but it remains to be seen whether the finished product will be as nice as Typhoon Lagoon.
I'd really rather Disney consider building a third full-sized water park using the River Country name and aesthetic. Seems like the demand is there.
you just proved the other posters point. All those elements are in one park. Not in texas, not in the Bahamas, it will be in Orlando. And no most of those "tube" slides are enclosed within the Volcano.Yeah, the teaser looks great, but none of those types of slides isn't something we haven't seen earlier elsewhere. Splashin' Safari has an LIM water coaster, Atlantis has underwater acrylic side tunnels, various Schlitterbahns have super-overbanked raft corners, etc., etc.
