Les Chefs de France - Should I grab something else?

So, I have an upcoming trip (50 days to go) and all my reservations are set. However, there is one small annoyance.

I initially had reservations for Bistro De Paris; however, as everyone knows they are not going to be open due to the whole renovation (change of menu). So they offered to move the reservation to Les Chef de France. The menu at Les Chef looks uninspired and the atmosphere doesn't seem to align with the evening I wanted to spend with my girlfriend.

Should I consider trying to find a reservation somewhere else for that evening? Or with it being so close to the trip am I out of luck? If so, where would you suggest?

We had dinner there last year for the first time. We were very surprised, and our kids liked it too. However, my recommendation to you would be, if the menu doesn't really grab you then book somewhere else, maybe Coral Reef, or San Angel Inn. LeCellier will be booked solid by now, but worth a try. For atmosphere alone, go with San Angel Inn or Restaraunt Marrakesh.

If you are looking for another signature experience near by, try Yachtsman or Flying Fish.
If you are not on the dining plan, try the signature places at the Swan/Dolphin.

The menu is definitely a little tired but it is well-executed. Service was great, and sometimes that makes up for just an OK meal. I could safely recommend the Salmon, the Shortribs and the Duck, probably in that order.

I'd go elsewhere.

I already have reservations at: Tutto Italia Ristorante; Fulton's Crab House; Teppan Edo; Le Cellier Steakhouse; and San Angel Inn Restaurante (This is a vacation of food!)

I'll take a look at the menu for Yachtsman like said in the earlier post.

What is "the evening I wanted to spend with my girlfriend"?

I assume you mean something quiet and romantic - Le Chefs is not quiet and romantic. I like it for what it is, but it is not a romantic restaruant. From a romantic setting standpoint, I would say San Angel. I know many do not like the food there. I found it to be OK. Well certain dishes OK, others were not so good. Not bad, just not anything good. However the atmosphere is very nice.

This is assuming that you are looking for an EPCOT restaruant to eat at.

Thanks Dave! Yea, I'm looking for the quiet atmosphere type of thing. After walking around the parks all day, doing tours and trying to squeeze some golf in - I'd like a meal where I can sit down and not have little kids bumrushing Remmy or whatever character de jour they are parading around.

I already have San Angel on the itinerary for a different day , so thanks for confirming it's a good place to go. I'll see if I can snag something at the Yachtsman or something.

In my honest opinion, there are so many other signature restaurants with better ratings, you may want to try. See if you can get an early dinner at Narcoossee's or Citricos at GF. Cali grill, is another suggestion. The best advice I can give, is look over all of the signature restaurants, choose one you havent been to, and go from there.

We ate at Les Chef last summer, we ate on a sunday and were surprised to find we werent cramped in there at all, the food was good, and the atmosphere was pleasant, probably due to the lack of Remmy on Sundays..

However if you're not wanting a 'signature restaurant' how about Kouzzinas on the BW? Again last summer we ate there, good food, nice atmosphere and from what i can recall not many kids around at all, plus its always nice just having a stroll round the BW after dinner, and you could even just pop back to Epcot for Illuminations afterwards :)

We loved Marrakesh, food was good and they had a belly dancer and music. Service was amazing. Of course I had to brag about my friend from Morrocco while I was there and they were so sweet asking about her, just a very nice experience.
