Legoland Discovery Center in Downtown Disney?

The other day my wife and I began the closing procedure for purchasing into the DVC Kidani Village at AKL. We were at the Disney's Doorway to Dreams location in the Woodfield Mall in Schaumburg, IL. This mall is adjacent to an outdoor mall called Streets of Woodfield, where the Legoland Discovery Center is located. At any rate, at the front desk of DDTD right next to marketing materials for DVC, there were pamphlets and discount coupons for Legoland Discovery Center. Ofcourse, I immediately grabbed some up as admission to the LLDC is $19.00 for adults and $15.00 for kids. I found this interesting that Disney would offer coupons and info. about LLDC in a DVC sales location.

When we met with our sales agent, I asked her about it. At first she stated that those materials were there to promote kid friendly venues in and around the mall. That made alot of sense to me, but I went one step further with her and asked if there were plans for Disney to put a LLDC in Downtown Disney. I added that since all the clubs in PI were being closed, perhaps one of the attractions being planned were a LLDC. Her response was a little cryptic, she basicly said that Disney likes to foster and build their relationships with companies they already do business with. She then offered us 4 free passes to LLDC, she said "I think we have them around here somewhere." Now that statement was an eye opener. After we signed on the dotted line for DVC, we were given the free passes to LLDC.

Now she did not confirm anything, and I really believe that she did not know whether LLDC would be added to DTD or not, but for a DVC sales location to be handing out LLDC free passes out to DVC buyers, it doesn't take much to put 2 and 2 together and float this out there.

So what do you think? Am I reading too much into it, or am I on to something?

Even if they do it, who cares? We have a Legoland Discovery Centre in Berlin and it's booooooooooooring. And overpriced. OK if you have children it may be a little different but believe me, if you are in WDW you won't be able to enjoy or even accept the lousy "rides" they have to offer with 3 dozen vastly superior rides in the parks. If they want to survive at WDW they would have to do something far more better than they did in Germany.

Lego Discovery Centers are owned by Merlin which is owned by Blackstone which owns a big chunk of Universal Studios so I don't see it happening. The Lego store is not owned by them they are owned by Lego.

Call me crazy.. but why would a DVC sales rep in Schaumburg, IL. have insider info about Downtown Disney?

I guess maybe they could have drove a Disney/DVC bus before.
