Legal name vs name you go by

Crappity crap. Booked our airfare this morning and when I did I realized that I booked our Disney vacation under the name my DH goes by(his middle name) and not by his legal first name. Does anyone know if this will be an issue?

yes, it may be if the name on the reservation does not match the name on his ID. call disney reservation center to have it addressed before you get there. be sure the names on the airfare match exactly too - our middle initials are on our IDs, so i use them when booking airfare too, just to be safe.

It will be an issue with the airline, but not WDW. If you show up at the airport with I.D. that doesn't match the name on your boarding pass, you will be denied boarding. Just call and have it changed. (And make it clear when you do that you are not changing the ticket to a different person -- it's a "name correction," not a "name change" -- they'll charge you a fee if they think you're transferring the ticket.)

As for your WDW booking, I don't think it matters. My driver's license (the only photo ID I use) still has my maiden name, so that's what I use when making airfare arrangements. I use my married name for all of our WDW booking, and it has never been a problem with Disney when checking in, etc. that my I.D. doesn't match the name in their records. (I think they care more that the name on our room reservations matches my credit card than my I.D.!)

Good luck with the airline. Most any change will trigger a change fee.
Just to clarify: The airline tickets are correct. It was when I was making them that I realized I booked Disney under his middle name and that they, like the airlines, may have an issue with this because our tickets are non-transferable.

Airline tickets are correct, but Disney tickets are not. This is the info I was looking for :) And actually his credit card has his middle name on it instead of his first name so that should be a plus? I'm just trying to save myself the hassle of calling again.

I would think you would have less trouble with Disney. I go by my middle name because I'm a "Jr" and my dad is still living so it makes things easier. I think we have booked before and not had an issue. If course my full name is on our credit card so that could be why we don't have an issue.

Finally got this resolved. So if your full middle name is listed on your driver's license then it is okay to use it for reservations and tickets, but if your middle name is listed as only an initial (which of course my husband's is) then you have to use your first name. His middle name is even on his credit and debit cards and Disney said it has to be on a photo id. At least we have the option of using his middle name on his magic band.
