More than likely they will just be the afternoon showers comming off the ocean. On another note, while i want you to have a rain free trip, rain is desperatly needed there! My father-in-law's house is only a mile away from the wild fires off I-95. I dont want him moving in with me cause his house burns down ;)

It's summer in Florida. It's supposed to rain...and it just looks like it will be afternoon t-storms. Complete wash-out days in Florida are few and far between, especially outside the month of August. They call it the Sunshine State for a reason.

Until about the first or second week in June, it's still the dry season for most of Central and Southern Florida. While it is possible to get some rain on any particular day, the chances are usually 30% or less and if you are in one of the areas that gets hit by some rain, it usually only lasts for 30-60 minutes at most.

Once the rainy season starts up in June, then you can count on a thunderstorm almost every day that lasts anywhere from 30 minutes to maybe even several hours.

Main thing is not to worry....there is plenty to do should you encounter some rain. I wouldn't let it affect your plans that much at all.

any true veterian of disney will tell you a good afternoon shower is just what you need. Once it rain everyone seems to scurry off for lunch or go back to the hotel for a break. That is the time to hit SM or one of the other indoors rides. Or spend time in shop or something. I leave on Sunday and have no worries about the rain. Each of the 15 times i have gone it has rained alittle on a couple of the days. The showers seem to pass right by within under an hour so have no fear.

It has mainly been between Titusville and Melbourne on I-95. This weekend I-95 was closed from 50 to 528

Just wondering but if there is day where it just wont stop raining and everything closes ... does Disney give you a rain check if you have a magic your way pass?

Thanks

I doubt it, i have been there during a hurricane/tropical storm. I only remember Test Track closing down and it was during a big ol down pour. They probably would if the park was closed (ie: cat 3+ hurricane)

No, there's plenty of stuff to do indoors that doesn't close in those situations.

The only times I've known WDW to close the parks is when there was a large (CAT 3 or greater) hurricane crossing the state, over Orlando. I have an AP, but my son, who was visiting, got a 1-day park hopper, to make up for the day that the parks were closed. Please, don't worry about a little rain shower. Just be prepared for it.

We were there during Hurricane Wilma and 2 of the parks opened about an hour after it passed and the MK stayed open until 12:00 that night (it was scheduled to close earlier). The AK and MGM stayed closed. We did not get a rain check but due to airline cancellations we had to stay an extra day and they added a day onto our Magic Your Way tickets at no charge (it would've only been something like $15 for all of us anyway). We of course had to pay for the room (we had a room only rate). They also had tons of in-hotel entertainment during the hurricane. Characters were in the lobby (Poly) and the lifeguards played games with the kids. They had arts and crafts set up as well. I thought it was very festive for being stuck in a hurricane and we only missed one morning in the park. The kids (5 and 3) never even realized that there was a big storm.

One of my best days at MK was a day it rained until about 3:00. Talk about no lines! It was also the first day for my now 6 year old DD. She was almost 3 and had the time of her life. She just donned that poncho and went for it. So sometimes rain is fun!
