I voted for CB. It's too big and spread out for my taste.

Cheers

PS...In 4 years of cruising Disney msg. boards I've only seen one negative comment on Port Orleans. It's my favorite resort and I can't wait to stay there in Nov.

Animal Kingdom Lodge. Had big issues with Housekeeping on my trip in May. The pool was always crowded. I missed having a quiet pool and a body of water to look at. I prefer a resort with lots of places to walk around and get away from people. Surprisingly I thought I'd be able to get away from crowds at AKL. Everywhere I went there were tons of people! For the first time in 15 years I actually looked forward to leaving. I will say the architecture and theming was nice though.

Heading for the great escape.
You havnt included the Carp and Duck resorts. Surely the ugliest buildings in Orlando. Mind I have a freind who loves the Swan, but that was until he discovered the Polly.:)

POR...sorry guys...I don't understand what all the hype is about...
I've stayed both in AB and the Mansions...and had horrible experiences with transportation, the staff, and food court both times!
Though the resort is beautiful...AB seemed hot and dirty...and the Mansion rooms didn't come to par with the AB rooms...they seemed very cheep and tacky!
The resort is also very spread out...but thats no reason not to like a resort! Request a room close to the food court...and you'll be set!
There was trash everywhere..and bags of trash left outside our rooms...that wasn't even ours! When talking to management...they didn't even apologize... and accused us of leaving the trash there and since it was our mess...we should clean it! (we had thrown the bag out on our way to the bus earlier in the day) She was extremely rude...
The pool is great though...I will say that...but outside of the pool and the boat to DTD...I don't feel this resort meets par with the other moderates...
I know I might get "flamed" for this...but I was just answering the question!

I won't give you any problems as the reason I've not stayed there were because two people I know complained about dirty rooms there. These were people that didn't even know each other so it's not like one was influenced over the other. We all have preferences. I love the All Stars but I didn't like the music one the most, just preference. Also, I love the Caribbean Beach but someone voted for that so it's all in taste!!! Anyway everyone has their own opinion. You really have to stay at different resorts (which we have). We love the Poly the best but there are many resorts we would have not problem staying at. Usually we need the 5th bed so that limits us in rooms. But really, I've never stayed anywhere that wasn't pleasant!

Kenny,
I'm somewhat glad I'm not the only one that had this problem at POR...infact..after reading several rave reviews about this resort....I was very excited to be staying there! It was an overall dissapointing experience...
We've stayed at several other resorts...(ASpo, CBR, POLY, BWI, Swan, AKL,OKW)...but by far POR was a huge dissapointment! I agree that POLY and it is exactly what you said...its what you prefer....
I'm one to try all the resorts...but I've become somewhat biased after staying at a POLY or BWI and going down to a moderate or value....although I will say that our experience at the ASpo was more pleasent then that of ours at POR...

thanks for the reply...

I voted Contemporary b/c it is the ugliest, most bland looking Resort. I know it's an original, but I dont care for it's style at all. At least the All-Stars are colorful. The Contemp is so ugly, boxy, and not home-y-esque looking. I can appreciate the design, yes, but it is by far my least favorite Resort. And the property it sits on is so small...very hotel-esque, not a Resort.

What say you? I'm looking at possibly staying there for a week in Dec/Jan. But I'm undecided. Can you tell me why you didn't like the resort, please?

I was the second person to vote for riverside, but don't worry. I've never satyed there. I visited all of the resorts on my last trip down, and Riverside simply didn't suit my tastes as far as atmosphere and location. No biggie.:)

I voted on the All Star Sports but if Pop Century had been on there it would have gotten my vote. It is SO horrible looking.

RickEff--I personally love the Yacht Club. The design, location and service are awesome and the pool is out of this world. However, if you're traveling with kids, I would recommend the Beach Club end. It's colors are a little softer and more relaxed and its just less...stiff than the Yacht Club, strictly in design only. The Yacht Club is full of kids as well. The atmosphere at the BC is just a little softer. My parents really prefer the YC end however, they think the quiet pool is quieter, etc...I hope you decide to stay there, there is tons to do.

I voted for CBR only because it is so large. I like smaller resorts (like PO-FQ) where you don't have to make a huge hike or a take a bus to go have some breakfast. We were very fortunate to get a room near the pool and dining area but you just can't count on always being that lucky. I would rather save my walking energy for the parks. Lovely resort though. We did enjoy ourselves.
