Is there one park that any of you think will least interest my 13 year old daughter? We arrive Sun. morning and don't plan to start our 4 day hopper passes until Mon. And then plan on concentrating on one park a day. (Neither of us have ever been to disney before.) Any suggestions on our plan? Would Down town Disney at night be something we could enjoy together? Help, help, help!!!!! :D

Greatmom,

My apologies too... I didn´t pay attention, it´s a SHE! ;)

To add to Grizzlyhall´s recommendations in Epcot, I think she will definately enjoy the Norwegian ride, Maelstrom, (plus, there are many cute guys in Norway...hehe)

Again, I would recommend you not to miss the live entertainment in the countries in World Showcase, specially Morocco and China with their acrobats. That´s what makes WSC so special...

I wouldn´t see Circle of Life at Epcot, but would NOT miss the Lion King Show at AK for anything! If you haven´t seen the Broadway show, this is the closest you will be to it! :sohappy:

Since she is an A student, I am sure she will enjoy Universe of Energy.... it´s a good 40 mins. attraction, but it is a classic and one of my favorite ones, amazes me to see a whole movie theater moving... and the smell and dinosaurs inside are amazing!

At AK, do not miss:
*It´s tough to be a bug
*Dinosaur
*Kilimanjaro Safari
*Kali River Rapids (if u want to get wet)
*Lion King Show (great show)
*Tarzan rocks (it´s a cool show)
*the tiggers area (can´t remember the name!)
The whole park is very nice...walk around it...

Have fun!! (and please...let us know how it went.... ;)

My favorite attractions are.....All of em.....Almost :D...Prolly RnR and ToT, just because I like rides like that :) but that's just me, My best friend (or one of em at least) will not go on ToT for her life, not even if I'd bribe her with one of those expensive, huge mickey mouse stuffed animals

hmmm ok

Animal Kingdom:
I personally love animals, and I liked Affection Section there because they have animals and stuff. and since I like rides I liked Dinosaur. And the Lion King show was cool, because the monkey-ish people were really cool, bouncing around on a trampoline like that  I didn't get to go on kali river rapids, but I hear it's ok...
ummm, I think that's all I really liked in AK, I'm not sure though...can't remember

Magic Kingdom:
well, like I said, I like rides, so I liked Pirates of the carribean, Haunted Mansion, splash mtn, and some others. Some things in fantasyland are cool, like the teacups, because i like spinning :hammer: and I think I like adventureland and frontierland best because theres a lot of stuff to do. Tommorowland is also cool because rides, and the feel of it is cool. Theres not really that much in Main St, USA, Mickeys toontown fair, or libertysquare, but I just breezed through it and if something cuaght my eye, I would check it out

EPCOT:
Spaceship earth isn't that great, but i go on anyway just for the heck of it. I've never been in the living sea's, or living with the land, or whatever it's called. Wonders of life has some weird stuff in it, Body Wars is kinda...odd...I don't see why theres such a big line for it, honestly. Ellens energy adventure is boring. I'll just put it that way. And I've never been on Test Track (! I had a fastpass, but i forgot I had it so I didn't go back, hehe) but I hear some good things about it, and I would go on, just to see what it's like. I think the best things in World Showcase are Maelstrom in Norway, the restoraunt (sp?) in Italy (hehe) and the living statues, or whatever they're called in France, it's kinda funny to see what they do :)

MGM:
My personal fave. Like i've said a few times, I love rides, so I like RockNroller Coaster and Tower of terror. the Indiana Jones show is cool too, I never saw the movies but the show was still cool, even if I didn't actually know what they were doing/talking about. Fantasmic! was really cool! I like the way they put the picture-ish stuff on the water screens, which is also what they do in Voyage of the Little Mermaid, which is...interesting. The whole animation thing is cool, while it takes me like, an hour to draw charactors perfectly, the people there do it in like, a minute, hehe. Muppet vision 3d is a really good show, it was really funny and I reccomend seeing it, just because it's cool :) and the BackLot Tour is pretty cool too

DownTown Disney:
Disney Quest is So cool! Me, my brothers and my cousin spent a whole day there, mostly making rollercoasters and riding them, they're pretty cool because if you like really loopey, crazy ones, you can maks those, but if you like tamer ones, you can make those too. Planet Hollywood is cool, I've never eaten there but I like seeing the movie memorabelia (sp?)...I did see a movie in the AMC theaters, but it's just a regular theater that you have back home (anyway I like the one here better, it has better seating :D) ummm, I guess Pleasure island would be cool, if I was able to get in most of the stuff  And the marketplace has store and things that you can get lots of souvineers and stuff

Wooo...Long post...I g2g though, gotta get some sleep :snore: (me and my fingers!)

If you had to leave one park out, it would be AK. If this is your first trip, I think MK warrants a minimum of 2 full days, it's the most magical park of them all. If you're only spending 4 days, I wouldn't bother with Downtown Disney, unless you're going to go there on sunday your arrival day. There is plenty of shopping opportunities in all the parks. I agree with the others that you can't miss Epcot, especially at night with Illuminations. Also I think shopping at all the diiferent lands in World Showcase at Epcot would be a lot more fun than DD.

Have a great trip!

I say just get Fastpasses for as much as you can and try and squeeze everything in. Animal Kingdom has it's perks so I wouldn't totally skip it but you go do it in a short time. If it's your first trip do the classic rides like It's a Small World no one does it so there's a short line. I know people are going to hate me for this but go to Millionaire it's a lot of fun. It's all about the fastpass and even if you miss your time they might let you on anyway and if they don't hold on to the fastpass come back the next day and cover the date with your thumb they never look.

I think what we have prooved in this thread is that there is something EVERYWHERE for your daughter...so the best advise I could possibly give (since i am neither 13 or a girl) is to try and take in as much as you can...Downtown disney is prob going to fill up your nights...so thats easy...Animal Kingdom...i say before you go there...look into what rides are there (I hear that www.wdwmagic.com has a pretty nifty list) and determine if you would want to see them...if so...go in the AM and knock out those before anything else...get it out of the way...

As everyone else has said...MK is a good 2 days if you really want to get the "full" experience..however...if pre-planned..you could easily get thru it in a day. That actually goes for all the parks.

Bring your daughter to the site...show her a list of whats there...find out what intrests her...work from there ;)

Our daughter is now 12 and has been going to WDW annually since she was 2 3/4. Her favorites include:

MK: Space Mountain
Buzz Lightyear
Haunted Mansion
Splash Mountain
Big Thunder Mountain
Pirates of the Caribbean

Epcot: Spaceship Earth
Test Track
Body Wars (Wonders of Life)
Maelstrom (Norway)

Animal Kingdom: Kali River Rapids
Dinosaur
Pagani Forest Exploration Trail
Safari
Legend of the Lion King

MGM: Rock'n'Roller Coaster
Muppetvision 3-D
Indiana Jones
Backstage Tour
Millionaire
Star Tours

I agree with other, don't miss Illuminations and/or Spectromagic .

Downtown Disney only excites her as a limited shopping experience on the West Side.

Personally, you won't find a bad attraction if this is your first time. Most flaws/foibles are only noted by people who have seen it all (multiple times) before.

I would consider spending more than 4 days at the Disney parks. We spend 7-8 days every year at the parks and still wish we had more time. We try to do almost every ride/show each trip and do some of the favorites above 4-5 times every year. Our personal record is 13 (really, 13) times on the Haunted Mansion in one trip. They got so tired of seeing us that they finally let us stay on and skip the pre-show.

Have a good time.

I've been on CBJ about 40 times - 2 times on some visits, 1 time on another few visits, some times 3 or 4 times per visit!
