Ok....I know it's always busy but is there a time in January, February or March that is not as crowed??o_O I am trying to research this.. I want to avoid school breaks, and star wars week, etc. Anyone know the best time??? How do you find out all the school breaks and vacas? We home school our lil ones so we can go anytime! Or is there an 'population averages' yearly that Disney has somewhere??
Gosh I guess I haven't been here in a while..lol:p
Love the new set up here and love the new smiley faces;)

February and March are dicey because of Spring breaks.

January is a fine time to go, but you'd want to avoid MLK weekend and marathon weekend (and New Year's, of course).

I mostly visit around the third week of January and its wonderful, This year I am trying something a little different. We will be arriving on January 2 thru the 9th. which is right before the marathon. I am trying to be strategic. I am taking my grandaughter for her first trip and wanted to catch the decorations....but not the crowds...but I am kind of nervous.

You should find it to be a nice time to be there. We go every year from December 26 to the 3rd/4th of January. It is crazy during that time, until Jan 2 - it's weird how the crowds just disappear it seems overnight! We do notice it starts to build back up by our last day due to marathon, but still no where near what the Christmas-New Years crowds are like.

Cool okie dokie!!!! Even though January isn't the warmest, and we are escaping from snowy upstate NY round that time... well maybe it will be warm with this weird weather lately?? lol Ok, so maybe we'll try for late January~early February?? Guess that means I can book it now!?!?!?!
Darn it...I'm sure we don't get to enjoy the free dining since we are with DVC???? :( There are 11 of us!!! And we did the full dining plan last year.. The guys said never again, but I don't think they realize how much money we are gonna have to fork out!!!!! On top of the tickets to get in...Oh well the price of a super duper fun vaca for the lil ones!! and us big kids!!:p
What kinda refurbs??? Like the water parks? We don't wanna miss out on the fun ones:confused: Also I wonder if the new Magic Kingdom Land will be open???:)

The new Fantasyland expansion should be open by November/December 2012. So... you should be able to enjoy it in 2013. Jan/Feb are great months, but watch out for refurbs! Allears.net does a good job of alerting you, and so does this site.:D

One of the water parks will undoubtedly be closed for its annual refurb. Splash typically gets a January-February-ish refurb as well.

We alternate January and February each year. You can count on it being cool if not cold some days. Just before and the week after Presidents Holiday can get very busy. Rides are down for refurbs. We went 3 years not riding Splash! So January and February have their pros and cons.

We went Feb 25-March 3rd and rarely waited to ride anything. The princess 1/2 marathon ended that Sunday, so we started at Epcot. We did have to get fp for test track, but walked on to everything else. It was quiet all week, about 15 min waits on most everything or less until the Friday before we left, HS was nuts, but Aerosmith and Toy Story were broke down, so we hopped to another park. It was warm enough to enjoy the water parks, and very few refurbs. I had a friend who went early Feb, they were freezing and had to buy warm clothes after they arrived. No swimming their entire trip. Weather can be iffy there Jan/Feb, sometimes cold happens. We had nearly 90's daily, and we were there about 3 weeks after them! Still warmer than winter in NY! :D It's a week before Epcot flower festival, so most everything is up, working, and beautiful with all of the flowers and greenery by then! A week before the crowds come! Just don't go the Saturday they have the Princess Marathon unless you want to watch them and not ride much.

I check the official Disney World site to find out the extra hours and any refurbs. It is very accurate even though I have seen an update on here a few hours before it showed up on the Disney site. Just go to the "park hours" at the bottom the home page, put in when you'll be there and the refurbs will be a the bottom of each park's 10 days of hours.
