Le Cellier question

Have you been to either before? Do you have them scheduled for the same day? There really is no comparison, they are two very different experiences - have been to both and loved them both....I don't think I could choose one over the other.

Haven't been to either. 1yo and 6yo with us ..

Reservations are for the same day. Had the Cape May Cafe first. Thought a boat ride to the beach resort would be a nice break to take dinner before ending back for illuminations.
But then Le Cellier reservation was available for lunch.

I love the seafood buffet at Cape May for dinner, they have so much and a wonderful dessert buffet... but the steaks are great at Le Cellier. Add in the cheese soup, the pretzel bread and the chocolate moose mousse for dessert... it a tough choice.

The little one eats for free (or baby food) and the 6 y/o will more than likely want a kids meal...

and whatever they want from the adult bar and dessert.

I guess it really all comes down to your family's choice of favorite foods.
I don't think you would have a bad meal either way. Cape May does have other foods besides seafood and that way you could have a bit of whatever you wanted. Le Cellier is a plated meal.

Have never done Cape May, but have heard lots of good things about it. It's on my list to do eventually. Having done Le Cellier more times than I can count and having ADR's for 2 upcoming trips, I will say that I haven't seen a menu from another restaurant that would make me change. So I would say if already have an ADR for Le Cellier stick with it/try it. Never had a bad experience or a bad meal there.

My vote is for Le Cellier. Since Le Cellier gets booked quickly and stays booked, so that would be my top choice. Cape May has an excellent seafood buffet, but I just couldn't pass up the food at Le Cellier.

I also vote le cellier (but I may be biased since I used to work in the pavilion) :lookaroun

I remember when the restaurant was NEVER crowded...this was before it changed to a steakhouse (anyone else remember eating there before you could get a steak?) so I'm very happy to see how popular it has become. Obviously that was a good move and it's a great way to get more people visiting the pavilion.

We love them both. If you prefer steaks than Le Cellier is the best. If you want a break from the park and aren't too much into beef than Cape May all the way, it wil also give you a chance to see the Beach Club and the Boardwalk area.

If you have never been, my vote is for Le Cellier, just because I have heard it is extremely difficult to get reservations anymore. If you have already eaten there and have not experienced Cape May then go there. Also a big heavy lunch might fuel you for the rest of the day.
