Le Cellier Prices Gone Up Again???

Just saw a recent menu from this month for Le Cellier, and it looks like the prices have gone up yet again!!

Filet Mignon 44, Ribeye 56, New York Strip 44, Sirloin 40, Halibut 37, Veal 40, Chicken 35, Venison 42,,,,the cheapest thing is some kind of veggie couscous for 27. Who do they think they are kidding. They want rid of anyone not on the dining plan I take it. I know its been an all day same menu as well for awhile now, but Disney has made it impossible to dine here. Those are insane prices, at night or something for a nice dinner or occassion I can understand maybe. But this use to be our favorite for lunch. Before it became signature they had a lunch menu that while still was high it was well worth it and fairly doable. This is even higher now yet again than a couple months ago.

.....for $56 bucks .....that steak needs to cut itself up ...feed itself to me .....instill the 'wisdom of the ages' into my soul ....give me the meaning of life .....and make me play guitar like Carlos Santana, Jimmy Page, Eric Clapton ...all rolled into one.

.....someone needs to tell the food service manager ...It's A Steak!!! nothing more ...nothing less!!

I'd settle for just Clapton, or perhaps David Gilmour.

....I agree. Our first time dining there was back in 2006 ...and the food was incredible.

...with each subsequent visit ....we saw both food and service slip exponentially. It's sad, because I will pay higher for great food and service. Our waiter on our first trip was by my estimation, a "professional waiter". He gave exacting info related to food & drink ...attentive but not overbearing service ...and was what I'd expect from a signature eatery. However ...the past recent trips ....we had "servers" ....basically take the order ...and bring the food ....and stand in a place that's nowhere to be seen until the check was requested.

As much as we always loved Le Cellier, and have never had a bad meal here, I have to agree, it's on a decline the last few years. We did make ADRs this year, but also added Yachtsman's (on @sgtmgd excellent suggestion) and Narcossee's based on @blackthidot reviews. Let's see how Le Cellier measures up....

i wouldn't eat there at the lower prices - it is just not that good. At these prices, I doubt they will ever see me again.

I have no problem paying high prices when it is warranted. It is by no means warranted at Le Celliar. They are in the same class as Longhorn (and dont get me wrong, I like Longhorn, it's just that I can do dinner there for two with drinks for about what a single ribeye at Le Celliar would cost)

To me the price of Ribeye is not comparable At Le Cellier to a local supper club I went outside of Florida that is known for their steak and fish fries. The local Supper Club has have Ribeye for $31.99 and that place is a supper club.

The local supper club I'm taking about has a very reputation locally. Tripadvisor.com has 84 reviews and it is ranked 4 out of 5 on a 1 to 5 scale. It also has 2013 Certificate of Excellence.

Le Cellier is a place that I never will go back again anyway. The fact 1 out of my 2 meals there in 2012 was bad. I agree that the Le Cellier is slipping.

I actually know people outside of the internet that had ADR's at Le Cellier on different days than I did in 2012 and had bad steak there one of out 2 times there.

Great comparison. But there prices r like a ditkas r any other high end steak house but there quality is longhorn r outback.

As a former waiter I can't help wondering what the CMs who work there think about this. On the one hand 18% of a higher price obviously translates into larger tips - so that's good. But I would be embarrassed at charging such high prices. And guests are likely to be more demanding and quicker to complain about any imperfections in the food or service when they're paying outrageous prices. "My $10 cup of soup isn't quite the perfect temperature - take it back to the kitchen and bring me another." It makes servers' jobs more difficult.

What happend to your "o" key?

The fact that I can get steak for 2 at Peter Luger's (That's a menu item, if you have ever been to Peter Luger's you know you don't order a rib eye, or a filet, you order "steak for 2", "Steak for 3" etc. - it's a porterhouse). Anyway, Steak for 2 is on the order of $85. That is less per person than a rib eye at Le Cellier. there is no way you can compare Peter Luger (food, atmosphere, service, and the availability of slab bacon as an appitizer) to Le Cellier - but there it is. Le Cellier is in that price point.

I dunno, the $72 porterhouse at Yachtsman was well worth it! :hungry:

My husband and I LOVE steak, but we've never seen any reason to go to Le Cellier when we can get excellent steaks elsewhere on property. We love Raglan Road's $27 Serious Steak (a 10 oz. sirloin), which has been cooked perfectly to order and melted in our mouths like a far more expensive cut every time we've tried it.
