Are you a beneficiary of Disney profits? Then why act like that. You're like one of those kids in school who always had to make sure everyone wsa playing by the rules to the 't'. Like a referee. Pathetic.

I've benefited as a cash-paying guest numerous times, getting walk-up tables at popular places, after ensuring to them I wasn't on the DDP. They are a privately owned business and can turn away anyone they please...this is how a free country works...at least for now...we'll see what happens with certain folks in office.
Why would I act like? Why shouldn't I!? You might be OK with other people getting screwed as long as you benefit from it but I for one am not. And just too add I am a cash paying customer (not on the DDP) and I would take serious issue is this happened in front of me.

If he WAS speaking as if he were a beneficiary of Disney profits, wouldn't he be encouraging the seating of cash-paying customers, seeing that WDW would see revenue from the DDP already purchased (whether they eat or not) PLUS the money from the cash-paying guest?

That being said, I agree with your main point. There's nothing about DDP that gives you certain rights at any particular restaurant. DDP gives you the right to 6 FS meals for a 6 night stay. It does NOT give you the right to "Friday night, 7:00 PM, Mama Melrose's, Saturday night, 6:15 PM, Rose & Crown." Regardless of your method of payment for meals, Disney is VERY clear that ADR's are STRONGLY recommended. DDP or not, failure to abide by this warning means you don't get the best choices for meals. There's no reason for a DDP guest to get preference over a cash-paying guest either for making ADRs or walk-in service.

or vice-verse....neither DDP or Cash guests should be favored for walk-up dining. It should be first come first serve if you do not have an ADR.

Just wanted to add it incase that's what you meant incase someone decides to flame you!

If that's not what you meant, then :fork:!!!!

Haha yeah sorry, that's exactly what I meant. Preemtive flame not necessary but I appreciate the warning. :D

Ok so can anyone tell me if Le Cellier would hold back tables in reserve to use with the Candlelight Processional thing in December, maybe making it even harder to get in during that time??

Yes they do participate in the Candlelight Procession dinner package.

we're going this nov 28-dec 3rd and got a reservation between 8-9pm on the 3rd at le cellier. i did the online adr 180+ the number of reserved days in advance and yes i too hate that you have to plan that far in advance (often before you even know what the park hours might be).

last year we went to le cellier for the first time and i didn't get our adr there or at crt until 3-4 weeks after i started trying. someone must have canceled i guess. i just kept going back and trying randomly (sometimes in the middle of the night even...i'm a night owl) and finally got in between 8-9pm. it was certainly a little easier before the free dining plan kicked in...back then it seemed like not as many people did the sit down signature places. hang in there and keep trying.

Good for you OP glad some pixie dust landed your way. I'm searching for some pixie dust of my own for Le Cellier the week after Christmas. We've even looked at a day on either side of our trip to see if anything is available.

I too was unable to get an ADR - 6AM, 180 days in advance in advance of 12/12. I tried ever day from 12/12-12/18 and nothing between 3:00 & 9:00. I check daily but still nothing - I am trying for a table of 6 - is the restaurant really small and only has tables for 4? I booked Le Chefs de France for the animatronic Remy - but I am still holding out hope I can switch to Le Cellier!

Never been able to get ADRs...but always was able to get a table at Le Cellier as a walk up.
Of course...I do believe we were lucky because of the following...there were only two of us, we went off season, and ate at a time that wasn't really traditional lunch or dinner time.

So for those who still can't get a table with an ADR...be willing to be flexible and try the walk up...
you never know!

I'm also in the same boat except my vacation is looming even closer. I'll be at WDW August 15-21 and Le Cellier is also my favorite restaurant. My girlfriend tried to book it 180 days out and no luck the entire week. We keep trying but our beginning to lose hope...:(

That's funny . . . we'll be there Aug. 16-21 and I made my ADR's about 150 days out. I was disappointed that we got a late lunch at Le Cellier (1:50) instead of dinner, but now I'm relieved that we got that! I must have gotten lucky and hit a cancellation. I expected to have a hard time getting a res. at CRT, but that ended up being one of the easier ones! I've never been to Le Cel, and am really looking forward to it.

I think the original point to this thread was the frustration of not getting in at all, and having to plan out all of your meals so far in advance. It really takes the spontinaety out of a vacation. One of the joys of being on vacation is not living by a schedule. I get enough of that at work!! But, as long as they have the DDP and free DDP promos, which I am certainly taking advantage of, I'm not sure what the solution is.

Helping a friend plan his trip with his GF. Le Cellier was on their list, but nothing available (they only decided to go on the late-October trip last month, so much less than the 180-day window).

I've been checking every once in a while, and was finally able to snag them a 5:45pm reservation. (Obviously it was a cancellation that I happened to stumble across) Earlier in the evening than they would have preferred, but they gladly took it. ;)

So keep checking, cancellations DO happen!

I am a cash paying person bc i got a room discount, but still make my adr's as suggested and do not expect to be treated any differently. I agree with the scheduling ahead of time for dinner can direct your trip, thats why we try different places and have come up with a few hidden gems. Lecellier is good, but not great. If you realy want it, just keep calling, and you usually get it, we did for spirit of aloha( not worth it after we went).

Le Cellier impossible

We are going to be there the same time you are and have been trying to get reservations to Le Cellier. We are concierge at AKL and they tried first thing in the morning and weren't able to get anything. What they told us was....that the restaurant maybe holding back tables for the Candlelight Processions reservations. And that will start booking in the end of July.

That was just the little tid bit we were given. But, I still keep trying everyday.:xmas:
