Le Cellier - How The Mighty Have Fallen

Had lunch on Saturday and was very disappointed. Ordered the gnocchi and was brought out something that looked like an appetizer. The gnocchi is described as being served with buffalo mozzarella and seasonal vegetables. There were two tiny pieces of mozzarella and about seven or eight sliced cherry tomatoes of varying colors. My wife's burger had to be sent back because she ordered it well done and it was pink. While I waited I counted the gnocchi. 24. I kid you not it was one layer of pasta in the bowl. The server was very nice but the food quality has become poor. I was last there in 2010 and was not overwhelmed, but gave it another shot this time around. Its very disappointing as this used to be such a great place to eat.

So do you think your meal would be worth 2 credits on the DDP? :p

Just kidding - sorry to hear the food was so off. How they can suddenly label themselves as a "signature" and serve food like that, I'll never know.

We ate there in 2011 for dinner, and the food was ok, but the service was Awful!!! I will not be wasting any of my dinner credits there ever again!!! It was very disappointing. It's a shame they've made it 2 Credts.

Unacceptable for a Signature restaurant. I'm sorry that happened to you :( The last time we went to Le Cellier was right before it became a Signature restaurant and I don't think we'll be back. We always thought it was a pretty good deal for a regular Table Service place, but it just doesn't compare to places like Jiko and Citricos, in our opinion.

Sorry to hear you had a less than stellar experience there :( Le Cellier used to be my favorite and while the steak this time around both times we dined there for lunch were delicious, it's not as good as it used to be. Always used to take the top spot every trip for best meal. This time it went to Cali Grill. The filet there was better. We have an ADR for lunch in Sept and heopfully it'll be as good as before but if not, I don't think we will be returning as often once it goes signature.

Me too. You just never know. If you do send food back, just be sure you are extra special nice and polite when doing it; because if there's one rule, its that you never ever, ever, ever mess with the people that handle your food.
Unfortunately there are people out there that just don't care and will make sure your food has that extra special 'seasoning and flavor'. ewwww.

Sorry to hear about your experience there! I agree with the others who have noted that it's not as good as it once was, overall...years ago our first meal there was outstanding, so much so that I have very vivid memories of it all these years later. It was also MUCH less crowded and it sort of felt like a hidden gem. The last time we went, for lunch I believe, was maybe 3-4 years ago back and it was still good, but nothing remarkable (and super pricey to boot, and definitely not worth the wait we had for a table.) These days, I'm sure I'd be lucky to even have a shot at walk-up seating, and God knows I haven't been able to get an ADR there in forever, so I've basically just given up on eating there for the time being. Maybe some time in the next few years if we have more time and advance planning involved, I'll give it another shot, especially if I hear good things about the quality again.

Sorry you had a bad experience. We've only been once and thought it was just OK. I thought we'd try it again on our next trip, but it's posts like this that are driving me even more to just dine around the world.

It's a shame reviews of poor quality & service are coming out after full Signature dining was announced.

Pretty sure our ADR lunch this November will be our last visit.

Hey all,

I used to wait tables in Boston area restaurants. It was never a big deal when a customer wanted to send back food. If a burger hasn't been cooked the way you asked, just send it back. And always say please and thank you. Your mom will be proud. ;-)

Good advice! I haven't sent food back a lot, but I have never really worried about what will happen if I do because I'm always polite and friendly to wait staff. I guess if I was a jerk about it, then I'd have cause for concern.

oh yes, I will send food back if it is cold or terrible but I always do it nicely so they don't put that extra special seasoning on it..(hopefully)
