Yikes, hope he is ok, anyone here anything else about this?

A lawn care worker is in the hospital after a tour bus hit him near Disney on Wednesday.

Investigators said the man, on a riding lawnmower, slid down a hill on Floridian Way and ended up in the road. That's when the bus hit him.

The accident happened near the Contemporary Hotel on Disney World property.

The condition of the man has not been released.

While heading to MK on the monorail this morning I watched them land the helicopter to airlift the man to the hospital. They landed the helicopter in the grass area across the street from the Contemporary. They stopped all traffic on the road in front of the contemporary and had RCES vehicles all over. The helicopter then took off over the seven seas lagoon.

Are we sure M.S. didn't have anything to do with this?? :lookaroun
How long do you think it will be before they stop cutting the grass around WDW? It's much too dangerous, IMO. :lookaroun

Have we aready forgotten about the accident at the TTA last week. I am going to Disney for a day in a few weeks and I hope I can make it through that 24 hours. With my luck a bus will crash into M:S as I am riding it.

I thought Floridian Way was West of Seven Seas? World Drive continues past the Contemporary.

My thoughts to the worker.

You are correct. This seems to be another case of the media not getting their facts straight.

So what else is new? Rush to get the story out before dotting all their "I"s and crossing all their "T"s.

I hope the lawncare worker will be ok.

I was wondering why North World Drive (the place where it happened, not Floridian Way) was closed off this morning. Traffic to the MK and Contemporary was re-routed down Floridian Way, and behind the MK... it was backed up pretty far too.

I hope everyone involved is okay... to be hit by a 45 foot motorcoach is not exactly the most pain-free thing. :(

Well, I can forgive them on this one, as World Drive continues up and around the park and eventually becomes Floridian Way... The actual name change, though, is at the intersection of Cast Drive, where the railroad tracks cross the street to get to the roundhouse.

Yeah, sometimes I wonder how anyone can make it off of the TTA alive...those cars move at such blistering speeds you'd think that the wheels would blow off of the things!
