Laugh Floor re-worked...

Yeah, I saw it last week.

Specifically, the one monster did his "Comedy-in-a-box" routine instead of his psychic routine. And Marty Wazowski did a lot of jokes sent in by guests, instead of the usual one.

I liked both versions (the old and new) very much.

I read on another forum that someone saw a different monster come out during their show instead of Buddy Boil. I thought that was great as it keeps the show fresh.

last week, montymon, his son and I saw it...

Buddy boil was doing his act, and switched the dance camera back on, "just checking"... sadly it was me. However, he had a cell phone, and when the audience member put up the amount she was thinking, he got a call from that guy tellig him the number.

It was new to me, but backgrounds had not been upgraded yet.
Interesting.. :king:

We just returned from WDW (crying serious tears) and we really enjoyed MILF. Discussion of it's theming meshing with Tomorrowland aside, it was a cute experience. We saw it twice about 7 days apart and it was somewhat different each time. I can't compare it to any earlier version as this was the first time for us, but it will probably be at least a once per visit attraction for us. Gotta love Roz.:ROFLOL:

After reading many positive posts about this attraction in recent months (I saw MILF in April), I am inclined to give it another try. When I saw the show, the animation was very choppy (all but one of the monsters' mouths didn't move). Also, I read Kevin Yee's article on MA, and was very disappointed to note that every single jokeduring my show (several months later than his preview) featured every single joke Yee mentioned in his article word for word. I expect some things to be repeated (such as with Turtle Talk), but my experience was completely scripted and featured technology that was functioning poorly (I thought it was very bad show to allow it to go live in the condition I saw it in...I mean the animation was really choppy and stunted.)

I also texted a family-friendly joke, and was charged for it, yet that was apparently not working either, as that segment was one scripted joke and that's it.

So, anyway, my experience in April was abysmal. I was surprised that for the first time ever, I found zero enjoyment in a WDW, DL, or DLP attraction (even Stitch wasn't as bad as my personal experience in MILF). I am heartened by posts saying how the show was lively and interactive (missing from my show), and the improvements mentioned by the OP also go a long way. I am truly hoping to be pleasantly surprised on my next trip in May.

Did anyone see MILF in previews during early winter or after the official opening in spring (like me in April), and can say whether they find the attraction better now?

Hi, first time poster but long time fan of the site. Never posted since I really had nothing relevant to say until now.

I too am encouraged by the positive posts for the improving MILF. I saw it early on and it was an extreme disappointment to say the least. Not to mention it really seemed like it belonged in the studios not in tomorrowland. I have an excellent source (NO.. not a bus driver) who is very in the know and they say the show is still slated for upgrades in the near future both visually and in the show elements as they think they are ready. He indicated they are only about 75% finished with implementing the upgrades. The higher ups were not happy with the initial response by the public and have demanded the improvements show results sooner rather than later. My source indicated to me this is an attraction that has more than one backup plan for replacement if need be (which really blew my mind!). In one scenario MILF could be shut down and reappear as as different attraction relatively quickly (mind blown again!). He would not elaborate further on the possible replacements but said MILF still has plenty of time to redeem itself and from the recent posts it looks like it is headed in the right direction. I cant wait to see the improved show. Thats all I know for now. Thanks.:)

This fits with another post I read (here I think) that said MILF was only at stage 3 of 5 earlier in the summer. Plus, I'm not surprised to hear that WDI has concepts for that space. I imagine they have concepts for most spaces on property. The idea that one could get green lighted so quickly is surprising.

Though, in the grand scheme of attraction costs, how much could MILF have cost? The technology was already there in Turtle Talk and MILF is nothing more than a line queue, an auditorium, animations, a few cameras/lights and a few CM's on a microphone.

Another follow-up tidbit. My source also said there was at least one other attraction that was on the "bubble" and could be "flipped" into a different attraction very quickly. I asked for him to at least tell me which park and he smiled and declined.

I think I'd have to agree with this. I was there just after the official opening (Apr 9 - 16). I was completely prepared to hate it. I hated the concept, I hated that it was in Tomorrowland, I generally hate the Pixarification of Tomorrowland, etc.

I still think it's wrong for Tomorrowland, but judging the attraction on its own merit, I actually came out entertained and impressed. Granted, I also was expecting less-than-nothing, but still, it did amuse me. I do agree though that the animation was choppy and was obviously coming from a computer that was too slow to keep up apparently, but guests in my audience really seemed to enjoy it. I had heard from others that the audience makes a big difference and I can believe that.

I had not intended to make it a must-visit attraction by any means, but hearing that it's changed.. well, maybe I'll have to give it another go.

My sentiments before seeing it were pretty much the same, and I also enjoyed the show. Still, I wouldn't be upset if it were to close for something that actually belongs in Tomorrowland (I know this won't happen anytime soon). Unless the new sets make it more future oriented, I won't be changing my stance on it.

I saw it this past weekend and the animation has improved tremendously. The show is a bit better, too. But I still don't think there was enough laughter to fill that entire canister. :)

great thing about WDW - there is something for everyone to enjoy. there are a lot of things at WDW that I choose not to do because I don't find it entertaining to do over and over - but the amount of laughter I hear everytime I go see Laugh Floor let's me know it's a success. I don't go for the corny jokes that are done each show - i go to watch the reactions of the Guests and hear all the laughs!

I wholeheartedly agree! I really enjoyed it the several times I saw it and I even got picked by Mac and Jeeves. I hate SGE and don't go there. If you don't like MLF, then don't go...plenty of other people do like it.

HELLO HUMANS!!!!!!!!!! :D

I think Laugh Floor is good, but they need to be careful how they poke fun at people. A member in my group wore a shirt that spelled out their school and they put him on the big screen commenting his spelling skills. He was okay with that, but I can see problems arrising if he had spelling issues and was sensitive about it.

In other words, the show could possibly offend people and that could lead to problems with the cast and park management. They need to be care how they joke about things because the person that they're joking about might not think it is as funny as they do.

Putting that aside, the show was pretty funny. The "that guy" thing was funny. Although, again, they need to be careful with that. Nevertheless, I'll be seeing it again on my next trip.

IMO I hope they come up with something else other than MILF. Atleast somehting on the same level as the show adjacent to it. And Stitch isnt that great either but wasnt as bad as MILF.

Dang, I was hoping they turned it into a PIN STATION. I don't eve care about pins, but that would still have more use for me than the current iteration of this area :ROFLOL: :ROFLOL: :ROFLOL:

We went to it in May and thought it was cute... kind of predictable, but still cute... that was until.... SPOTLIGHT ON ME! Yeah I got picked to be up on the big screen and felt like a HUGE dork as I had to do the silliest of all things anyone had to do. hehe. But my son loved that Mommy was acting like a moron in front of all those people. haha!
Personally I enjoyed Turtle Talk with Crush better, alot funnier!

And now I know, if I go back to Laugh Floor...
NOTE TO SELF: Do not sit on end of aisle in the center...
you WILL get picked! :p

I thought the attraction was decent at best (the "that guy" part was pretty funny), but I'm glad to hear that it's being improved, I will definitely be seeing it on my next trip.

I really enjoyed the attraction - it was one of the things that makes Disney special to me - the interactive rides. I did it twice, once during extended magic hours in May and once during the day (the extended evening show was better). I miss things like Superstar TV and The Monster Sound show. Only reason I still do the Indy show is just to see people up on stage - because it's always awesome seeming the magical moments happen. I'm glad they're cleaning up a bit, though, because reaction hasn't been strong enough and I'd like to see it stay around a while.

I agree with the general consensus - it does not belong in Tomorrowland - I'd hitch it over to the Studios as well. I think a lot of the heavy criticism would maybe ease a bit if the attraction wasn't occupying such a prime piece of real estate. That's not to say that the Studios is of a lesser quality than MK but, theming in the MK has been a little off of late, especially in Tomorrowland, and I dunno - moving it would help, I think.
