Bleh...I'll be there in Dec of 09...is there an official opening date for WoC yet or it is set to open in 2010 but we might see some trial runs in late 09?

So I looked through LaughingPlace.com at some of the artwork that is at the Blue Sky Cellar Preview Center and was wondering if there are any attractions that are currently at DCA that won't be open during in 09, specifically December, dur to renovations for the expansions/upgrade of the park? IE, the ferris wheel that is going to be rethemed to Mickey's Fun Wheel looks like a blast and I would hate if that's going to be closed while I'm down there...I know most of the retheming of that will just be cosmetic...but I'm jw...

btw, with the economy as it is...Disney Co picked a great time to remodel and upgrade DCA...I wish management had the same mindset over here at WDW. Hopefully by the end of 2010/beginning of 2011, the economy will start picking up again...with the newly renovated California Adventure being ready for people eager to travel!
(for anyone who thinks the economy will be a quick fix in 09...you're sadly mistaken)

Mickey's Fun Wheel is scheduled to open April 23, 2009, along with the new boardwalk games.

The Preview Center is designed to be updated four times over the course of the DCA makeover, so you can see what is coming next on the rehab schedule. The new Mickey's Band Concert ride would seem to be the next on the schedule once the Fun Wheel opens, and that likely takes it through late '09. The Little Mermaid ride has been reported to begin construction in April, 2009, so I would expect that area to be behind major construction walls by next December.

As for timing of the WoC debut, it has also been reported that this show will be rolled out as part of the Disneyland 55th Anniversary celebration for 2010, so I wouldn't expect it to open any earlier. But you never know.

It's still a year away from your visit, so things are very fluid and unknown that far out. But just expect plenty of major construction to be going on in DCA, with the first new areas of the makeover uncovered by the time you arrive. By next summer things will be more firm for what will be closed December, '09. Check back in six months.

On more question for you TP. I'm not familiar with any DL websites that are as good with park information as WDWmagic is with WDW such as new attractions coming and possible dates and whatnot... Can you help me out one more time on some reliable info?

I'd be curious to know when Carsland is set to open along with TLM...Which I thought was set to open in late 2009...

I agree about Miceage and Micechat. There's a wealth of information there, and a regular source of solid rumors and backstage information from Al Lutz and his updates. The archive of Al Lutz updates are available on the front page there going back about six months or so.

The Little Mermaid is scheduled to open in 2011, and Cars Land and all the new attractions and offerings there opens in 2012.
