Hi All,

Can someone give me the latest on the refurbishments that are happening at Riverside? We are looking to book for October this year and we don't fancy going if it will look like a building site.

We went to WL last year and POR the year before and we love stopping on Disney property but with all the upheaval should we look at another resort?

Thanks

Dave from Worcestershire in the UK

Hi Dave, I was just at Riverside last week and I didnt see ANY signs of refurbs going on. I can tell you I know I got a redone room. Several changes were evident such as the Marble thing at the end of the bathtub( I think it was tile previously) new carpeting, new drapes, Tile in the vanity area ( Previously carpeted) Privacy curtain in the vanity area, new pillows and mattresses. I couldnt have even told you that the resort was undergoing a refurb unless I had read it here!!! Go ahead and enjoy!!!! Belle

I was in Oak Manor in room 9222. My stay was from May 24th-28th. Two of my friends had gone and were in Parterre Place last week and did NOT have a rehabbed room!!! I dont believe they have done any of the Bayou Houses as of yet but I havent been inside any of them to confirm that. I do recall reading it on here though. Belle

We were in Alligator Bayou in August '02 and the building next to us (for some reason i think 15) was closed, undergoing rehab. They were working hard everyday but by evening there were very few signs of work in progress. Very subtle. Didn't really seem like a construction site. When we asked we were told that Disney would be taking one building at a time off-line for re-furb. Sounds like they are really nice, We will be checking them out in 68 days!

As of TODAY along the river I saw no signs of Refurb. Just some lawn mowing and they were fixing a bit of seawall that was messed up or something. That's it.

Building 80 (mansion that I can't think of right now) is under rehab. All the rehabs are happening inside the rooms.

Buildings 85, Magnolia Terrace, and 90, Oak Manor, have already been refurb. Parterre Place, bldg. 95, will be done by the end of July if not earlier.

Haven't heard of anything about when/if the Bayou will be done or if the main building will have any work done.

I doubt anything will be done to the main building as that would mean basically shutting it down and I don't think they want to do that right now.

I stayed at POR 5/15-22. I had asked for Magnolia but they told me nothing was available there when I arrived. They did not tell me it was being rehabed.

The only way I found out it was being rehabed during my stay was when the bus went by and there was not one car in their lot. Also the bus did not stop at that stop. I heard no noise, saw no contractor vehicles no trash etc. Altogether a quality job of not disturbing guests.:D

I ended up in Parterre which as it turns out was much better for the lobby, food court etc.:D Although Parterre had not been rehabed I found nothing that I could or would have complained about.

I'm glad Magnolia is done with the refurbishment. I have called Riverside a couple of times and never found anyone who could give me a straight answer. Thanks!
