I'm curious. if they are building a hilton here, are they still going to keep the one by DTD or is that going away once the new one is open?

Usually Hilton dont see problems with having lots of their hotels close together. It seems they like to dominate areas, so I dont see them closing the other. I dont have any hard info on that though.

Its certainly going to give people more non-Disney operated choice in the area. You now have the Swan/Dolphin, Gaylord Palms and the Hilton and Waldorf all within a stones throw of the parks. Good for competition!

One of the cool things about the current Hilton is you can still get Extra Magic Hours. It says this area is not Disney owned or operated, so I am guessing that won't be the case here. EMH is one thing that will sway me to stay on property vs using HHonors points to stay at a Hilton.
