This may not be a bad idea, but how is it a good idea? THis is cheap amusement park kind of stuff for me.

Plus does it take away from what Disney does to try and hide the off-stage elements? Look kids it's Cinderella's Castle, and a Giant Parking lot by Space Mountain!

It's not like you will be able to see the parking lot from TL. It's always been in the area.

"Amusement park stuff" fits DTD perfectly. I have been thinking of other ideas that might be popular. I came up with a double ferris wheel, ice skating rink, bumper cars, midway games (see DCA) etc. All would work IMO. They also need a new nightime water parade to bring in even more people. They would have to charge for parking eventually because of the crowds.

Not just charge for parking, but charge just to walk onto the sidewalk. Knowing Disney, they'd just make that into the 5th theme park...."Now featuring twice as less as AK for the same price!!!!" I've said it before and I'll say it again, once I'm done at the parks for the day, the last thing I want to do is go to another park. Besides all that stuff can be done at funspot right down the road.

I think DTD will be geared to locals who need a quick fix of Disney Magic and guests who only visit once or just every view years and who want something to do after the parks close besides just going back to their rooms and watching TV.

By the way, on site guests don't have to pay for parking on property. Quite a nice value added perk.

I love Universal's City Walk. It is a lot of fun in a safe and friendly environment for locals or tourists. If DTD is suppose to compete for the after hours crowd at all, this attraction won't help.

I am a die hard Disney fan, forget the other parks! When I visit Orlando or Oceola for business, I go to Disney for Dinner and then leave for City walk. It is simply more fun. Pleasure Island (with the exception of the adventure club) couldn't compete.

This attraction is indicative that DTD is either not interested in competing with the City Walk Late night crowd, or is going in the wrong direction IMHO

I can't see any Disney magic going into DTD....I mean they won't even build their own restaurants, let alone an amusement park area. DTD is only meant to get 3rd party companies into that area to give Disney money for rent. The only true Disney magic has been gone for a few months now. It's been almost 6 months now, and Disney has not even announced any plans for that area. They should start work on putting their own shops and restaurants in that area, but coming from the company who thinks 1 attraction is going to compete with Harry Potter world, I doubt they will. The PI area will meet the same fate as Wonders of Life, just to sit empty until they decide to bulldoze it....or maybe we'll get lucky and they'll build a playground on it.
