Late for dinner or change dinner time?

I just realized that my spa package runs into my selected dinner time. The apt ends at 6:15pm and we have the first dining time. Can we be late? Should I change my dining time? Can you change it for just one day? Should we just not go to the dining rooms that night. Not sure what to do... any suggestions? I'm not giving up the massage though.

See if you can ask guest services to pass it along to the restaurant that you'll be late. 15 min will be fine. W were just on the Dream and people strolled in for 30 min. But the polite thing to do would be to just make sure the servers knew.

A little late isn't a problem, but if it's more than a little bit, just go to Cabanas (or its equivalent) for the evening. Ask your head server first though about the timing. Probably not an issue at all- but you're on vacation, so why hurry.

Yes, I had though to maybe do Cabanas or even room service. I just didn't want to miss out on one of the restaurants. I wouldn't be any longer than 15 mins.

Totally understandable. Sorry if I seemed flippant. I absolutely get that dinner is "check-in" time, having sailed with a couple 12-year old boys myself.

I would agree with Bruce and Tom, then. Check with your service team to see if it will be ok to be a little late. And if they show some hesitation, enjoy a sit-down meal at Cabanas.

I agree with everyone else, check with your serving team, but the problem, as Chuck alluded to, is that they are trained to say yes to everything you ask. So they're probably going to say yes no matter how much it inconveniences them.

15 minutes won't be a big inconvenience, but 30 and later really starts to mess with their serving.

I see you are cruising on the Wonder in April. On my cruise on the Wonder last April I think the first dinner seating was at 5:45pm, so if your appointment ends at 6:15pm you would be 30 minutes late. But eating at Beachblanket (the Wonder's version of Cabanas) is really a nice alternative. We ate there one evening and really liked it! We had a table at the window and enjoyed the view of the sunset over the sea. The food was delicious, it is more or less the same as in the MDR, kind of a selection of the various menus being offered. Overall we liked it so much that we decided to do it again during our next cruise. Personally, I would not want to have to rush out after my spa appointment to get quickly dressed to arrive late for my seating in the MDR. That would be too much stress and I would fear that it would take away from the wonderful relaxation the spa is supposed to bring with it.

Alternatively: Is there a chance that you can change the time of your spa appointment? It might be worth it to enquire about this once you board the ship!

This is probably the best idea. Try to change your spa appointment after boarding! :)

I've checked on-line to see if I could change the spa time. But no...at least for the on-line part. I'll check again once on board. I think your right about not wanting to rush after the spa. We'll probably do Beach blanket or room service. Thanks for responding.

Depending on how relaxing your spa treatment is, you may appreciate being able to relax at Beach Blanket or in the room with room service :) The evening buffets at Beach Blanket are great so you will not be missing out on any fabulous dinner food.

Just so we're clear, it's not a buffet at dinner (the exception being on days when the ship is in port until late). Beach Blanket Buffet turns into a sit down restaurant at night and you will order off the menu. It's a selection of food from some of the main dining rooms and it is not available on the first and last night of a cruise. :)
